Thought it was about time I started my PTR.

It has been 5 long years since I last visited a disney park. That was a wonderful trip (DL, WDW and Cruise!). We also came home Pregnant!... Now we have 2 beautiful daughters 4 and 2...

I LOVE everything DISNEY! I have even been fortunate enough to work in WDW for 3 months in 2000-2001! What an experience.. If you would like to know about my time as a cast me meber let me know!

So here we go...

WHo is going:
Me (32), DH (31), DD1(4) DD2 (2), my parents, my Sis (29), BIL (29) and Nephew (1)

We are going Jan 15th - Jan 23rd... I know January is going to be FREEZING! but who cares, its still disney.

We are staying the entire trip at the hilton tokyo bay.

Havent really planned anything just yet, which is so not like me. I think I had a countdown from a year last trip !:rotfl2:

I have been to tokyodisneyland but DH and kids havent been.

I am after advice!!!!!
1. has anyone been in January?
2. any tips with travelling with kids?
3. How did you get to the disney resort from the airport?
4. What are your must sees in TOKYO??
5. do you buy you park tickets before leaving australia?
6.can you book character meals before you arrive?

thanks for reading... Hopefully this will get me excited about the trip. Life has just been in the way ATM and havent had time to plan....

looking forward to getting to know you all
Jess

Oh goody, we are going to TDL in April, will be nice to have a fellow Aussie to share the anticipation with. Are you posting on the tokyo Disney thread? We are staying at the Sheraton grande tokyo bay.

As for your questions, we chose to go in April as I thought January would be too cold, but like anywhere if you are prepared you will be much more comfortable. Are you doing any skiing? I would pack thermals and a good coat, hat and gloves. I believe it can be quite windy in the Disney area as it is right on the bay.

As for getting to the resort the airport limousine bus seems to be the best option. I think it's 24000 y (about $30) per person and takes you straight to the hotel. As we are family of five, I have looked into other options but this still comes out the cheapest and easiest. I guess you could take the train but would involve a couple of changes with luggage, for me it's just not worth it.

I plan on buying my tickets from the hotel when we get there, I don't think there is any cheaper alternatives, and you do have to nominate which days you are going,

As for the tokyo must dos - I haven't got anything particular in mind, although I only just found out about tokyo skytree. This is a new telecommunications tower only completed in may this year, it's the second tallest tower in the world, behind burj khalifi in Dubai. It stands at 634metres, by comparison Sydney's centre point tower is 309 metres. Anyway we plan on going here one day.

thanks all for you info so far!
I am hoping to get some planning done this weekend:banana::banana:

I look forward to the responses here as well we are going late jan with 3 kids under 5 I think I might be mad!

I definately think I am mad! My 2yr old is really stressing me ATM. She has a temper, tantrums in the shops! I also think she will scream everytime she sees a character . I assumed she would jut behave as her older sister at that age. Boy was I wrong!!!!!

We have a 4.5 yr old a 2.5 yr old and our youngest will be 7 months. Do you know anything about the passes for parents so we can both ride without having to line up twice? I am really looking forward to our trip, Burma sad that dh andi won't be able to go on any rides together.

Just ask the CM at the entrance to the queue for the baby swap or parent swap pass. My DH and I never ended up using it though, we just used FP for all the big rides while the other parent took the boys on a different ride or for a churro or something.

I wouldn't worry too much about DD2 having a meltdown in TDL, they are use to it! And I know how you feel, DS3 is an 'energetic' child as well.
