Was looking at the vacation packages but need clarification. On the 2 day, you get park ticket for disneyland and fantasy spring...but then the attraction tickets shows disneyland 3x and disneysea 2x. Need clarification to this...? Has anyone crunched the numbers as to 'a la carte" vs the packages? Any insight would be appreciated..

Ugh, I remember it was a pain in the rear when I was trying to price it out. You add like three events or attractions to each pass day and I totally forget if it affected the final price. Sorry I went during the summer so I've all but forgotten. I was just shocked how cruddy the site was but maybe it was just an unfamiliar process to me being a foreigner? In the end I found it to be way more expensive then it was worth to get the package. I spent 2 days in each park though and was able to get everything done except all of Fantasy Springs. We were able to get into Fantasy Springs easily enough each day using the free reservations to get a standby pass for a ride. You could probably get two a day but it was a long walk to get back there and it didn't make any sense to split the day up. However, once in Fantasy Springs you can eat and stroll around and look at the sites for as long as you want. Of course, being the summer and 105F crowds were pretty manageable for us. Sorry, I'm thinking this wasn't much help other then letting me vent a little. :fish:

Can you clarify which package you're talking about? Packages are all one park per day, so you shouldn't be receiving Disneyland and Fantasy springs access on the same day.

In general, packages don't save you money. They are more of a convenient way to buy everything at the start and not need to worry about buying multiple premier access passes day-of.

They make it really hard to price things individually when pricing a VP. You essentially have to add things and take things away and look at the price difference, so it's a royal PITA. Just know this: You're going to be paying a premium for the VP; things like adding the meals will just be at the going rate in the restaurants, but then again, those meals are set meals, and not all the restaurants which offer the set meal for a VP offer a set meal ordinarily. Also, there's no way to know what they're charing for the "free" day 2 breakfast. The meal bookings are also based on availability, and those fill up as well, so the early bird gets the worm. Of course you could stalk the site and change your package if more desirable locations/times might pop up. Got that?

I did a two night / three day VP last month, I purchased it a few months before that and I think they have changed some packages since. Anyway my first day was Disneyland with three attractions to select. Second day was DisneySea entrance with two DisneySea attractions plus a Fantasy Springs passport which includes unlimited priority passes to the rides in there. The third day was DisneySea again, this time three attractions but no Fantasy Springs passport. So on the previous day, the Fantasy Springs passport is a substitute for the third attraction.

I haven’t costed it out, but I don’t think it is intended as a cost effective method, I think it is more a case of paying for the convenience. And I have to say it was worth every penny as the crowd level was off the charts.
