Just booked Tokyo Dining for my anniversary in December. I saw on the menu that there's a bento box. Anyone know what's in it? Did I make a good choice in picking here? It's for 2:40 on Sat, Dec 4 which I think is the last sitting for lunch. We met b/c of a Japanese anime club so I thought it was appropriate for our 5th anniversary that we go to a Japanese restaurant.

A bento box is a sort of "combination plate". At our local sushi place, it will come with a small salad with a sort of French dressing on it (not bad), the selected entree (such as Chicken Teriyaki or Shrimp Tempura), steamed rice, a small California roll (seaweed, rice, and avocado), and a small sashimi (I think it's got crab in it - it looks like a little dumpling; I love them) as well as fresh ginger and wasabi as condiments (the wasabi is green and VERY HOT! Be careful). It may also come with Miso soup (tofu) beforehand - not my favorite so I give mine to BF, who loves it. It is a lot of food but doesn't weigh you down.

I think you made a fine choice, but then...BF and I love go for sushi all the time. Sushi chefs require a lot of training and I'm pretty sure WDW has some excellent ones. Enjoy it!

I had the bento box at Tokyo dining and loved it. I wish I remembered everything that was in it but of the four items two stick out it my mind, a really good seaweed salad and a falulous veggie tempura "pattie" that I could have eaten the whole trip and been happy. I do know my daughters bento box was slightley different so I think they had two on the menu and she loved hers as well. I don't think you made a bad desicion. Tokyo dining was lovely and much calmer than many of the other restaurants we went to. If you ask to sit by the window you get a great view of the comings and goings in WS and the lake.

We love getting bento boxes here at home but I don't eat sashimi so I was worried that they put it in the boxes. I'd hate to waste something. We're really looking forward to it. Looked at a recent menu last night and all I can say is "YUM".

I don't think there's a dress code for this restaurant. It looks so nice and since it's the last lunch sitting I'm hoping it's quiet too.

I've had it, but forgot what was in it exactly. I think it had a seaweed salad, a bowl of rice, a bowl with tempura vegetables, tempura shrimp, and tempura scallops, and maybe four pieces of sushi (California roll maybe?). It's funny, I forgot exactly what was in the bento box, but remember I really liked it and plan on ordering the same thing when I go back in Dec.:rotfl: Their green tea pudding looks nasty, but was really good. Be sure to ask for window table overlooking the lake.
