Does anyone have experience with booking at Tokyo? I am planning on going for 6 days and would like to stay at the DisneySea Resort in Mid Season (June 2-7). I would pick any other hotel as long as I can stay close to the park but my reasoning of picking the most expensive one in points is so that I'm almost guaranteed occupancy. I would hate to wait 5 business days for them to reply that I can't book one of the cheaper resort with less desireable view. If you have any experience with booking in Tokyo, please help =0)

:cool1:

I can't really help with booking Disney hotels on points, but just wanted to say that you will love Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disneysea.

Whichever hotel you choose, you will probably have to take the monorail or a shuttle bus to one park or the other. There is a monorail that circles the area with stops at DisneySea, Ikspari mall/train station, Disneyland, and neighbor hotel area. I stayed at the Hilton Tokyo Bay (free on Hhonors points) and walked a short distance to the monorail and took that to the park. That hotel had the same privileges as the Disney hotels (eg guaranteed park entry).

We also have visited all 11 Disney parks and think the Tokyo parks are the best of them all.

When we've visited Tokyo Disney Resort, we've stayed at Hilton Tokyo Bay each time. The monorail (Bayside Station) is just across the street from the Hilton, and it was very convenient to both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea theme parks.

If you value your DVC points just at your annual maintenance fee cost, you may find the Disney resorts cost you double or triple what the same stay at the Hilton would be.

I stayed at MiraCosta twice already and while it IS expensive, I loved it! I payed OOP and not with points, so I booked with Tokyo directly.

Both times we had Partial Porto Paradiso View rooms which cost the same as the least expensive Tuscany View Rooms (facing away from the park, towards the parking, train station and industrial / residential areas. Partial view rooms do not offer a full view of Porto Paradiso and might have some architectural obstructions but we had great views of the lake, the volcano and even of American Waterfront.

Unfortunately, I think it is not possible to book partial view rooms through DVC but they have both Tuscany and Venice View at the same points price. Venice View is into the park as well, but not necessarily of the lake, it is still a very nice view.

Additional information: If you stay at either the Disneyland Hotel or Hotel MiraCosta, the monorail ticket for the length of your stay is included, but not when staying at Ambassador Hotel, as this hotel is not directly at a Monorail stop and has busses to both Disneyland and DisneySea.

I have a question for those who have stayed at the Tokyo resorts. What are the beds like? They look like doubles from the pictures, but max occupancy is three if there is a trundle. Thanks!

I would say they were not full double beds, more 1 1/2 beds so it probably would be a bit tight for 2 adults sharing a bed.

Here are 2 pictures I took in our room, where you can see the beds a bit:

An option could be a Superior Alcove Room at Disneyland Hotel, which has 2 beds, a trundle bed and another bed in an alcove. Although from the pictures it seems a bit short for an (non-japanese) adult.

We're planning a day at DisneySea in July and just looked at the point charts--Ambassador is 75 points and MiraCosta is 78 points a night!! :scared1:

But then, the cheapest room rate at MiraCosta in June can be anywhere from $410 to $550 a night! Up to $600 for Venice side... :-)
