DH and I are going to have a night out at Epcot- need opinions on both restaurants. We LOVE japanese food- but want honest opinions on both- Rose and Crown had dishes we would like, too..... OOPS....realized I spelled Tokyo wrong......

My vote is for Japan :thumbsup2 . Great food ,fun & Great atmosphere . It's a must do for us each trip.
Sorry can't speak for Rose & Crown never ate there.

Thanks- I'm definitley leaning more towards Tokyo Dining....

My vote would be Rose and Crown. You know you love Japanese so try something else.

I discovered different beers there, because they have the sampler. We had the Beef stew and the Shepards pie and they were so flavorful. We also had the mushroom soup like thing in a pastry puff. Yummy!! and also the cheese platter.

We always try something we haven't before and it opened me up to new tastes.

i really liked the atmosphere there.

We just did lunch at R&C and were very disappointed. The food was okay but the service was beyond lousy and it was very expensive. They also had a very limited menu and the only thing I could even find to eat was the fish and chips. They were okay, but nothing to write home about.

Thanks for the replies...anyone else???

Had lunch at Tokyo Dining in May (ok, so I went back the next day too:upsidedow ) and it was fantastic!

Not crazy about the Volcano roll, too heavy for my taste. But the Dynamite roll was out of this world! Great blend of textures and tastes. Has my vote!

My opinion is:

In most anywhere in the country you can go to a japanese steakhouse. I always enjoying going to the Rose & Crown for a number of reasons.

1. Boddingtons Beer on tap!
2. Good Indian Food :)
3. I've always enjoyed the service
4. One of the best spots for the Illuminations.
5. Great place to meet people and have a conversation
6. great place to drink!

Never eaten at either of em, but building on what docmidnite said, if you and your hubby are looking for a romantic dinner out, Rose & Crown is the only TS restaurant at Epcot where you can sit at your table and watch Illuminations. They cannot guarantee you will get a patio seat, but if you try to book for dinner around 8pm and ask when you get there, you might be able to enjoy the fireworks over your dessert and a glass of wine. Sigh. Sounds lovely to me right now

We did not like the food and R&C. However, the view of the fireworks was great!

We do enjoy Japan.

Hello! Well, I can't give a review on the Japanese restaurant because I haven't eaten there, but I have heard very good reviews. I can say that Rose & Crown is a must do for us every trip. My husband goes for the Guinness and I LOVE the sticky toffee pudding. It is hands down the best dessert I have ever had, anywhere. The fish and chips are also outstanding there. A good compromise would be to get the fist and chips at the stand attached to the Rose & Crown as a counter service meal and then go to Japan for the table service... but then you wouldn't get the sticky toffee pudding...;)

We truly enjoyed our dinner at R&C and would not hesitate to go back. We were lucky enough to get a patio seat during illuminations and it was spectacular! That said, we are trying the Tokyo dinning this time around because it is something we've never tried here at home.

I think you should try something new, but I also think you will be happy with either one.

Good Luck!

I'd go with Tokyo Dining. But that's only because I live in the UK and can get better English food here than I can at Disney.
