Hi,

my DS is 3 and at home he uses a toilet reducer to keep him safe when sat on the toilet. Do Disney resorts provide such devices (I'm staying at Boardwalk)?

thanks.

I don't know if they do, but call them. When my kids were toddlers I bought a folding potty seat. It folds into 4 sections and can fit in a big purse. I think I paid about $10 for one at Burlington coat factory, if you have one near you or check some stores online. I don't think Wal-mart or Target carry them, but maybe Toys R Us or Babies R US.

we brought one along for our son during our VWL stay. The bellman commented on it when bringing our luggage up (it was in a grocery store type bag that you could see through enough to tell what it was if you were familiar with such things ;) ). He said that we were smart to bring one, that it was one of the things he hears parents saying they wish they had remembered. Based on the things he said, it sounds like they don't have them.

Call and ask though just to be sure. It's one less thing to pack if they do have them!

We also brought a folding potty seat for DD that I had bought at Toys 'R Us. The folding one is great since it can be easily stored in your bag while at the parks or in the hotel room.

We also used to bring a folding potty seat with us. Its great, because you can take it into the park with you (especially little girls - no sitting on dirty toilet seat!) I did a quick search for folding potty seat on goggle and got lots of merchants that offer them - some even had blues clues on them!

We also brought a folding one and a regular one. DD did not like the folding one, it did not fit the toilets very well. We just put the regular one in a book bag and had it in the bottom of the stroller. It worked out well for us.

We will bring our regular one for DD in the Hotel room. Otherwise she does fine when we are out. It helped her learn not to be afraid of the big potty's. :)

I just bought one of the folding potty seats at Burlington Coat Factory last night, it was a SpongeBob one. It was $9.99.

Target sells them too, it's made by Graco. My Target sold out of them and I've been looking for a few weeks.

My ds is just starting to use the potty and I'm hoping that he'll be diaper-free when we go to Disney in 63 days!!!!!!

Have a great trip!

Nancy

I was just about to ask the same question (not so much for trip to WDW, as just what to do in puplic.) DD is getting pretty good at using the potty at home, but those darn big seats with the opening in the front, she is just too little. The one time she did use the potty in puplic, it ended up running out of the seat and until the floor. That set us back a couple of days. Last time we were at a restant she said she had to use the potty, took one look at the big toleit seat and went in her pull up. Too make things worse she even fell in the toliet when at home, so she is worried about that. (at least it was at home when I know it was recenlty cleaned.)

Do the fold up ones fit on the large seats OK? Any one carry one around in a dipar bag? Thanks for the hint, I think I need to head out to Target or Burlington soon.

Thanks to all!

I'm not flying with a potty seat (foldable or not) because we've already overloaded with a car seat, a stroller, 2 huge suitcases, 2 handbags, a 3 year old and a 6 y old partly disabled by a muscle disease (this is what the stroller is for). And we have 2 planes to catch and thus 3 airports to visit...

BUT I may pay a visit to Target to buy some sort of device since apparently Disney did not think about it. A pity they don't, though...:jester:

I have had good luck carrying the fold-up potty seat. My DD doesn't need it anymore but she's still afraid of public restrooms and especially auto-flush toilets. I wanted to share a tip I learned here-bring the very small post-it notes to cover the electronic eye of the auto potty until DD is done so it won't flush before she's ready. I can't wait to try this with DD on our next trip(Oct 04). I think it will reduce her anxiety. I'm hoping DS will be trained by then as he needs to be for school in Sept. That will leave just one in diapers! Also the potties at the Baby Care Center in MK are not auto flush and since we'll be there with baby I make sure DD uses those.

I don't carry a diaper bag, but a backpack, and DS STILL sits (instead of standing) and I would love to bring a foldable seat. However, my concern is that its being placed on a dirty toilet seat and then going back into the bag and getting germs all over everything. Do they come with storage bags or something?

The way it folds up all the dirty sides touch each other and then I just put it in a zip lock bag.

I found when training all three that if you put them on the seat backwards (facing wall) then their legs are in a position with the seat that they won't fall in. The front of seat is usually narrower than the back where their bottom usually is. (AND with my boys this got them in the mode of facing that way when they stood up.)

I bought my own package of disposable toilet seat covers in case the bathrooms were out or didn't have. I would usually double those. No one ever fell in or missed. Then I would just throw it away.

FROGGY FLO - you may want to check with Guest Relations about getting a GAC - small card. It will let all CM's know that your stroller is needed for medical reasons so that you can keep it with you longer or in lines where it is not normally allowed.

How about wiping them with a baby wipe, then throw away. Or get those disposable wipes that can go in the toilet. Either way, I probably would just put in a baggy of some type as well (maybe ones you get from super market). :scratchin
