I was at Walmart tonight and they had toddler disney princess dresses. These were the first time I have seen them and make an inexpensive alternative to the more expensive park dresses that a feisty 2 year old loves to tear up :)

I don't know if they have had them before but thought I would share, I got a Cinderella and an Aurora dress for DD who will be 20mo when we go but they also had Snow White and one of the fairies. :cutie:

That's great!! Were they in the children's clothing area or the toy area? Do you mind me asking what the price was?

Thanks!

My mom purchased a Tink one last year for my niece's 4th Birthday. It was soft and not itchy. It was the only outfit we packed that was bought from a store. Vidia was so funny-she had my niece cover up Tink by having her cross her arms over Tink. I pointed that out to my niece after and she was shocked that Vidia would do that.

Squirrel, I noticed you're Canadian too! :cool1: Did your mom purchase it at a Canadian Walmart or south of the border?

Thanks!

They were $18 and in the toy area, in our Walmart they just finished putting up a huge Disney section with tons of new items, including Disney Princess Squinkies and new dolls with different outfits.

Also, these were sized for 2T - 4T instead of the 3+ sizes.

It was up here in Canada that she bought it. It was in with the clothing. I went and had a peak to see what other ones they had.

I made my niece a lot of dresses so I didn't buy another one. I don't recall now what ones they had last year. Hopefully, they have them up here this year. Should be around now, as my niece's birthday is in May. They weren't more than $25.

Disney Princess Squinkies?!!!! Oh no. I must get some of those for my DD!!!!:rotfl:

I looked yesterday and nothing here in Canada (at least at my store) yet. :( I'll check online and see if they ship to Canada.

Thanks for your help everyone!

I wasn't feeling well this weekend so I didn't make it to Wal-Mart.

I will try and get there this weekend and see if there is anything over this side of the country.

I have bought several of the dresses. While the cost of them leads me to buy them, they do NOT hold up well at all. My 2 year old wears them, and the bottoms are close to the ground and within hours the seams/stiching is coming undone and parts are unraveling.

Fellow Canucks - I just saw them this afternoon at WalMart in Calgary - huge selection sizes 18m - 3T. There was Tiana, Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, and Tinkerbell. Nice change seeing smaller sizes as when my 3 year old really wanted one when she was just 2 we ended up getting the 4-5 yrs one and added extra velcro to make it smaller and it dragged on the ground. Now my second is nearing 2 and definitely loves dressing up with her sister, so it gives us a better option. They were $20.00 cdn at our store. I still think it's a bit pricey compared to the steals I found after hallowe'en (never paid more than $9.00), but it's a good option. They didn't feel like bad quality in the skirts, but the tulle and the areas where the seams joined would probably need reinforcing if I wanted it to last for my little one. We reinforced the tulle on the oldest one's Cindy dress and it's still going strong two years later.

This is what I thought you were talking about when I first read your post. I saw these in the store and thought they were really cute.

I already have so many outfits for my DD for our upcoming trip but I still may pick her up the Belle one!

Thanks for the link, just ordered DD a dress for $13.88 including shipping!

Thanks so much sarah-jane! I'll keep my eyes open and hopefully they'll come to Ontario too.

Are they the ones in the link above or do they look different from these?

TIA!

They're much more "costumey" than these, a lot like the bigger girls costumes just miniaturized. I was a bit concerned that the stiff organza-type stuff might be itchy, but my youngest wears her sister's all the time without complaint (that is when she isn't relegated to being the prince). They were in the toy department and had soft satin-type slipper shoes with them and teeny handbags

ITA! DD has Rapunzel, Aurora & Cinderella dresses (and matching crowns from Walmart and while she loves them and wears them to play in all the time, the quality isn't hot. She had shoes on with Velcro straps when she wore them and the Velcro caught the the fabric on the bottom and just snagged it to shreds. They're all falling apart across the bottom now. And the Aurora dress is ripped at the seam between the white "collar" and the pink "bodice".

They're a fantastic price for play dress-up clothes and I'll continue to get more for her to play in (she LOVES dressing up as a princess), but I wouldn't get them for her to wear at WDW or for a Halloween costume or anything like that. The quality's just not there.

This is not at all like the one my mom bought my niece last year. Her's is more like a park dress but the front had a screen print of Tinkerbelle on the bodice.

Is there a Rapunzel crown? I was at WMT today but only saw ariel crowns.

I don't know if I've ever seen a crown but I saw a really cute Rapunzel headband with the costumes at The Disney Store the other day! I going to go back and get it for my DD when she wears her Rapunzel dress in Disney.
