Toddler on a Plane--Keeping 'em Busy?

No, play dough does not have to be in a 311 bag. You may pack it in a carry on.

I work for TSA. My DH also works for TSA. Yes, you do need to have it in a 311 baggie. Each container of play-doh must be under 3.4 ounces. It is SPREADABLE and SMEARABLE, and as such, needs to be in your baggie.

Sorry, but what is a 311 bag?

We took my daughter in January and she was 23 months. We really enjoyed sticker books, movies, look and find book, and the best thing for the plane and trip was SUCKERS! I bought the organic fruit ones because they made me feel better about myself but when we were on the verge of a melt down it would fix everything. I also used them to bribe her into getting into her stroller at the parks without tears. It will all be fine and try not to worry! Have a great time!!!

A friend of ours suggested bringing painters tape. We took a roll on our last plane ride and it kept our toddler busy longer than the iPad! He loved sticking tape on the window, the tray table, himself, etc. and when it was time to clean up it was easy to remove.

I would say on the plane is the easiest to keep them occupied. I usually bring my dd toy laptop, my ipad, books, and snacks. These items keep her busy on the plane.

At the airport, totally different story. She's either in her stroller screaming her head off and trying to flip her body out of the stroller. Or finally I give up and let her run around the airport which results in bad looks and her tiring mommy out fr an hour. This is when I wish I could get her occupied with something else.

Good to know...We have been taking DS to a number of places that require him to be in his stroller-for the most part he does pretty well...fingers crossed--but thank you for the heads up...

Totally on my list!
