Not sure if the grandparents are joining us or not. But let's pretend they are not...in Jan how many nights would you suggest for a 2yr old? We did a 4 night cruise with him this Jan, and had lots of fun. He adored the characters. Just looking for recommendations on many nights to do at Disney with him. We will be staying at AKL. Tiffany

At the time we went our DSons were 2 1/2 and 8 months and we went for a week. It was perfect because we were not fanatics about trying to see everything in just a few days. we would head out early and get back for sometime after one and head back out late afternoonish. We stayed at the Polly consierge level and it was perfect, while the kids were snoozing one of us would go to the lounge to grab some wine or a bear and snacks and we would sit on the balocony and stare at the castle. The AKL sounds great but wanted the Monorail option. Have a great time. We were there the 5th of Dec till the 12, and we are in the process of booking our next trip from the 4 of Dec till the 12. You will become hooked!!! Get a reservation at the Beigher Garden in Epoct, it is a blast!!!

We did 6 days with our 2 year old. 1 day for each park and two days to travel. We didnt see everything but we saw all that he could do and had time left over for mom and dad to do a few of their favorites too!!! We went back to the room every day for a nap and it worked out well. We got in about 4 hours each morning and 3 hours each night.

I would allow 2 full days per park, leaving plenty of time to take breaks etc and still see whatever you want. If you have hoppers, you can switch parks after nap if you want. Also allow an additional day if you wanted one for DTD or Blizzard Beach (probably not in Jan ;))

I have 2 days per park planned w my fam, inc a 2y old next month (we check in on the 31:woohoo: )

I would go for as long as you like. The most important thing to remember when traveling to WDW with small children is to take as many rest periods as needed. Don't worry about seeing and doing it all, and you will have a wonderful time.

We do five nights traveling with 2 young ones. We do things at their pace the entire time. Staying at a monorail really helps, and going during low crowd levels time frames. We can't wait for our upcoming trip!! Have fun whatever you decide :goodvibes

At one time or another we brought both kids down before they were two years old for 8 days and 7 nights, never a problem, flew down with them and they had a blast! They don't forget a thing just enjoy and don't push too hard

We did 5 days 4 nights with our 2yo daughter, she was about a month short of 3. We never went to AK then, we figured we've already been to the zoo with her, so because of limited time, we concentrated on MK and Dis MGM, a little at epcot, especially illuminations. Still love watching the video and hearing her reactions to illuminations and fantasmic.

I was thinking about 6 days. Planning on napping in the room mid day, and doing a park hopper. Just wasn't sure if that was enough or too much time. For our cruise this last Jan, we stayed on day on Disney prperty (no parks) then cruised 4 days and that was great. So he has done well on a 5 day vacation.

Monorails...?? Do they go to all parks? This is better becuase you wait for less time? Thanks for all the help on this.

The monorail only goes to MK and Epcot. We had our car and drove ourselves to the other resorts (we stayed at a MK resort) when our dd was 2--came in handy when we had to leave MGM early one day during a tired tantrum.

We stayed 5 nights that trip and it worked out well.

We usually do 2 weeks with ours. She is 3 going on 4 this year and has been at 3 months, 15 months, 2 and 1/2 years old and 3 years old. We did it the same way with our son starting at 9 months and then every year (he's 13 years old now). The main reason we stay so long is that we balance out our days very carefully to allow nap times and down time each day and then in the middle of the trip we usually have a day or two strictly at the resort with play ground, puzzles & games we bring, etc. That way the kids have never gotten burnt out and are rarely ever cranky. On nights we want to do fireworks, we schedule an extra nap or quiet time in the evening so they aren't too stressed. It costs more, but adds immeasurably to the enjoyment of the trip.

The monorail is only available at the Grand Floridian, Contempory and Polynesian and only goes to Magic Kingdom directly, for Epcot you have to reboard at the Ticket and Transportation center. For the other parks the resorts have buses as well as the other hotels have buses to all parks except for Wilderness Lodge which has a boat to the MK. Enjoy
