Can I get some opinions on people's experience with this. we are going with our then 18mo DS, he's very easy going and is not one of those kids scared of everything...my niece freaks with anything out of the norm (20mo). We've been to Dis many times so are familiar with all the rides but what we think he could handle might be totally off! How were your experiences with...

Magic Kingdom:
- Pirates
- Haunted Mansion
- Hall of Pres.
- Snow WHite

MGM:
- Voyage of Little Mermaid (sitting through shows)
- Beauty and the Beast
- BackLot Tour
- Muppets
- Great Movie Ride
MGM is mostly shows, are they intriguing enough to keep a toddlers interests??

AK:
- ITTBAB (heard it's too intense for toddlers)

EPCOT
everything???
- spaceship earth
- journey into imagination
- cranium command
- universe of energy

world showcase:
all the movies

what should we avoid? What is great for toddlers? Any help appreciated!!

I think that at 18 mos old, his fears will be very different than an older child. He does not know to be afraid of things like ghost or priates. His fears are likley to be of the dark or lound noises. I think that Zurgswife's reviews are excelent and would be a good guide. The shows are always a toss up. Will he sit for a short tape or children's show? I would try a show or two sitting near an exit in case you need to leave so as not to disturb others. Have a blast!!

Our daughter was 2 1/2 for our first trip - a very different age.

Magic Kingdom:
- Pirates - Fine
- Haunted Mansion - Didn't do, she was fine, but her 3 1/2 year old brother was old enough to be afraid of ghosts
- Hall of Pres. - Haven't done
- Snow WHite - Both my kids are fine on this

MGM:
- Voyage of Little Mermaid (sitting through shows) - Hated it
- Beauty and the Beast - Didn't do it. Sitting through shows is not our kids strong point
- BackLot Tour - didn't do it.
- Muppets - Not successful. They didn't "get" the glasses and didn't find it engaging (we just came back with a now 4 and 5 year old and they LOVED 3D shows).
- Great Movie Ride - didn't do it.
MGM is mostly shows, are they intriguing enough to keep a toddlers interests?? Not our kids.

AK:
- ITTBAB (heard it's too intense for toddlers) Did it with our preschoolers. They were fine. If you put them on your lap, they will miss most of the "scary" effects. However, its a 3D movie, and that hadn't been successful the year before. Rather than brave the lines for ITTBAB, I'd try the Muppet movie or the one in Imagination and see how it works.

EPCOT
everything???
- spaceship earth - loved it. This was one of my four year olds favorites
- journey into imagination - was down when we were there with a toddler. The preschoolers loved it
- cranium command - didn't do
- universe of energy - This is forty five minutes long, and thirty five minutes of it is boring. But we still do it. My five year old thinks its "Dinosaur" - and it won't be until he is seven and his sister six that we correct that idea.

world showcase:
all the movies - haven't done them. Most of them you need to stand, and standing little kids aren't a good thing.

what should we avoid? What is great for toddlers? Any help appreciated!!

Avoid Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. Better for the young elementary age. Don't miss the train. If staying on site, don't miss EE for Fantasyland. If your son likes zoos, don't miss AK, the safari and the trails and Rafiki's Planet watch. The one show the kids and the adults really enjoyed was the Lion King show. If your son is frightened of loud noises, skip the fireworks. Our kids loved parades when they were little. Don't miss Peter Pan's Flight - especially if your son is old enough to know the story. Don't miss the water - whether its the pool at the hotel, or the fountains in front of Imagination, or the fish back on the Pagini trail. And, of course, try to work in a character meal.

My DD3 was scared on the Haunted Mansion. She loves Pirates tho. Spaceship Earth was just weird to her, but I think she was tired when we rode that. Last year at 2 she would ride just about anything at Disneyland, but this year at 3 in WDW things were starting to get scarey for her.
