Here is my review

I absolutely love the place! Next time, we will just do drinks and different appetizers. I keep hearing raves about the clams casino flatbread, which we did not get to try. But we loved the crab nachos...honestly, everyting was awesome.

Do a search, you will find many reviews. You will especially enjoy the reviews of Uncleromulus and Misterdisney!

wildernesslodgelover-I'm following you around on the boards today! :rotfl:

We ate at Blue Zoo about 2 weeks ago. I've been wanting to try it for some time since we stay at the Swan a lot it's really convenient. FINALLY...this past visit we tried it and it was EXCELLENT!! Just myself and my 7 1/2 yr old dd. She liked it as well.

I had the snapper and it was fabulous. I love the presentation there. The sauce is in a little pot on the plate which also comes with a mixture of a salad mix and mashed potatoes. Sounds strange but it really works well together. It was excellent-very unique. DD had grilled chicken and fries and was very happy.

It was a very comfortable atmosphere. We didn't get dressed up. We both wore capri's and a nice shirt. We wore our sneakers too and didn't feel underdressed as it is a very mixed crowd. Vacationers and business people. Families and adults. The decor is very modern, but comfortable.

Service was excellent as well. Our server was attentive and friendly and the manager came around and checked on us as well. I highly recommend trying it! :thumbsup2

DW and I had reservations for Blue Zoo (first time) on 5/12/06. We staying at the GF that night so we taxied over to the Dolphin.

Atmosphere is very nice, decor is quite interesting. Dress code is business casual, I did not see any sports jackets , one guy was wearing shorts. There was a prom couple in the house, but for the most part it was nice and not formal.

Warm greeting from the hostess, walked past the open kitchen and promptly seated at a wrap around booth.

Waiter (Michael) was excellent. I requested my favorite martini (Vesper), which he had never heard of, and went off to ask the bartender if they could make it. He was very apologetic when he returned and said they were familiar with the cocktail but were missing one of the ingredients (Blonde Lillet). Ordered another favorite and found it great.

DW had the Blueberry Martini, the house special. She loved it, I tasted it and thought it to be quite good.

Michael spent some time reviewing the menu and made a few good suggestions. The menu is nicely done with a variety of dishes, mostly fish, but there are some meat dishes.

DW had Garlic Shrimp for starter. Three broiled shrimp with a nice mild garlic sauce and fennel, I choose the scallops and short ribs, two scallops perched on a medallions of braised short rib meat surrounded by a califlower puree and beef stock reduction. I stated I could have eaten this dish all day long, fantastic!

The bread selection was outstanding, three types all fresh and hot.
Wine list was large enough of a selection without being too long, pricing was fair. Wine service was nicely done without being overbearing.

We both choose the house special Lobster Cantonese. Two pound lobster, removed from shell, tempora battered and served over rice and stir fry veggies with a sweet/sour sauce. Very nice, and a $52 (the highest price entree) worth it. Huge dish, great presentation. Service was first rate.

Dessert was Creme Brulee bar for me, and Intrigue Cake for DW. I am a Creme freak and loved mine, hers was very sophisticated yet very good.
Coffee was better than average for WDW, but still not what we are used to.

Bottom line, we feel this is one of the best restaurants we visited at WDW. We went to Victoria and Albert's the next night and felt that V&A did not come close to Blue Zoo across the board. We are planning to make Blue Zoo a regular visit. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies! I am going to try and make a reservation. This is a last minute business trip and we are staying at the Beach Club (an easy walk over to the Dolphin).

I'm sure we'll love it. Thank again.
