I have decided to pass on the deal. DH gets at least one large box of Omaha steaks per year through work and while we enjoy them, we rarely eat red meat AND I am starting Weight Watchers and trying to make my home much more of a tempting free house! Omaha steaks is NOT on the list of tempting free!

Just wanted to point out that the Omaha Steaks deal is not really such a great deal, even at the "sale" price. After shipping, you're paying $10+ a pound for four bacon wrapped filet mignons (which I buy regularly fresh at Aldi's for $1.99 each for 5 oz., same thing as what OS is offering), boneless pork chops, chicken breast and hamburger. That's at least twice what you'd pay for top of the line meats (not the cheap stuff) from your grocer or local organic or grass fed farmer (which is what we are). It's not bad if you're looking for a gift for someone that's hard to buy for, but certainly not the deal they want you to think it is for everyday use.

That is very true, but I think most people buy these for gifts. I like the fact that they can be delievered directly to the recipient already vacuumed packed and ready to eat or put in the freezer delievered to your door. I see more than just the actual product factored into the cost. I wouldn't buy this for myself because like you said, you can find the stuff way less expensive at a local place, however I do like giving this kind of stuff for gifts over a GC that local place.
