how can a gma and aunt take a child who is not their own to a hospital/dr to get a rape kit done and how did the hospital approve it???

I didn't see the show so I don't know about it. But maybe if it was clear that the child had been abused/raped, the hospital was allowed to take action?? I have NO idea about the laws about this, so I'm just guessing about it. But I don't know.

I don't blame the mother for not letting the grandmother see the daughter. I would absolutely livid and do the same thing.

Oh I saw it all, yesterday. The mom's sister (aunt) was watching the child and the sister (aunt) heard the little girl say things that bothered her and the gram. The gram is a former police officer. They both took her to the hospital or some place called "child safe". The authorities there asked the sister (aunt) to sign as "legal guardian" as the sister (aunt) was WATCHING the little girl.

Dr. Phil was really mad about this but also explained to the young mom that despite how wrong this was what the gram and aunt did, he pointed out to the mom that if and only IF something was happening to her daughter; she would want to know.

The young dad, yikes, what they put them through.

i saw it yesterday and today, and the aunt did sign the paperwork at the hospital as the little girl's guardian. she said the police officers told her to, and she also said they wouldn't allow her to call her sister, the little girl's mother. dr. phil did say he strongly suspects that the little girl HAS been abused in some way, but it wasn't by her dad. i was relieved he passed the polygraph.
dr. phil did offer counseling for the little girl, which the family accepted, thank goodness. if what the grandmother and aunt say is true, someone hurt that little girl.

Ditto. And did you see where the mom said she came home to find her daughter naked and legs spread apart on the bathroom floor and the grandma was cleaning her ****** with a qtip?! Wth was that all about?!
