I am taping it so I don't know if it has aired yet, but I will be interested in what she has to say.

So have you seen it yet? Discuss....:surfweb:

She sounds so silly and ignorant and it's almost embarassing to watch it.

Can't she pay someone to help her out in that area? I think the type of questions he was going to ask would have been pretty obvious ahead of time.

She looked awful, too. Her hair was frizzy and it looked like her makeup was smudged.

I feel bad for her. :sad2:

I saw a short portion of it yesterday...she looked terrible and from what I could tell her breasts were spilling out of her top and she was sitting all slouchy, bending forward toward Matt...yuck....

What frustrates me the most is the very thing that makes these celebrities richer than some third world countries, attention getting behaviors, are then the things that they want to cry over. We just want to be left alone. Why can't people just leave us alone. I really don't think you can have it both ways.

I saw a few minutes of it before I left for work. I still stand by my belief that the "poor innocent country Britney" is just an act (and a bad one at that). She did gloss over the questions about Kevin which was weird

and whoever did her hair and makeup needs to be fired. She looked like a cheap party girl that just got home from the early morning "walk of shame" and didn't have time to wash her face.

Just because a person is a celebrity doesn't mean that they shouldn't have aprivate life. It is shows like Entertainment Tonight and people's desire to watch drivel like this that is driving this garbage.

I agree.

It was very weird how she talked about Kevin, like he was a casual date or something.

And the makeup...I couldn't keep my eyes off the clump or smeared mascara on her right eye. :confused3

If she wants more privacy and respect, she shouldn't be hanging out of her shirt. JMHO I don't believe that just because a celebrity is a celebrity that they're fair game, but she's the one that set herself up for the attention. On the other hand, I do wish the papparazzi would just leave her alone and not harp on everything.

OK, I just watched it....

Did it look like she worked up the tears to cry...::yes:: Man was that FAKE!!! This girl is working it.

While I do understand her desire for privacy, I do believe she is wanting this stuff to keep her name alive. It really is a love/hate thing with celebs.

Once you decide to make your living as a public person, whether that be in politics, show business, or are gifted enough to be a professional athlete, you have decided to sacrifice a normal private life. No one is suggesting that celebrities shouldn't have a private life, but as public figures, you cannot escape the public eye.

but that doesn't mean that you have photographers following you every time you step outside either. Everyone deserves some privacy.

I agree the media attention is over the top where she's concerned. I feel celebrities in general are way over exposed (Ben Affleck's headache didn't need to be front page news in the local papers)

However she does do a lot to bring attention to herself- too much to think she's a victim. If she's a victim it's of her own ambition and choosing. You don't dress like a hung over hoochie when you're 6 months pregnant and appearing on a network tv interview. It's one thing for a blurb on access hollywood. It's another to be dressed and made up like that to appear on the news programs. The more appropriate she dresses, the less attention she would get.

The bit on the Today show this am was just a "clip"/teaser...the whole shameful interview will be on this evening @ 10:00 p.m. EST.

I always liked her but, cannot get around the...we're country so we put infants in our laps & drive around, just like my daddy used to? WTH, suck it up, admit you made a mistake & take a parenting class to preserve your status when you & your pitiful husband divorce. Don't pull the country bumpkin bit.

BTW, they do make non-clumping mascara. Wonder if she did her own makeup & hair (the extensions were really crappy looking). As for her dress, give her credit; hard to look "hootchie" in a pink floral dress but, she ace'd it spilling out over the top & bottom.

Poor Matt L., his eyes are probably still burning. Brit, get a new stylist - pronto & while you're @ it, a competent publicist & divorce lawyer.

ITA! And I also agree that she worked hard for those tears. One thing that really bugged me was the fact that she was chewing gum! :sad2: She couldn't go 45 minutes without gum for an interview???

Is something wrong with her...I get the sense that she's "losing it." Something seems off to me...she almost seems MORE immature than she was a few years ago.

I just watched the outtake on MSN and noticed the gum!!! It is like she knew she really shouldn't have it because most of the time she kept it tucked away in her cheek...then occasionally she would be kinda chewing on it....really annoying!!!!! The part with the tears kind of cracked me up - not the effect she was after I am sure - OMG!!!!

:wizard:

ok...yes, she's pregnant, so that would explain the fat face.
the rest is up in the air. tuck your ****s back into your shirt, cover your butt up, and throw the gum away....you look like a cow chewing it's curd!!
i have never been a Brittany fan, and I never will be. She's a media hound....will do anything to get the attention....the "feel sorry for me" bit is old....the "i married a dumb@ss bit is old"....the whole "Life of Brittany Story is old.
i was really surprised that Today, and Matt would waste the time to interview her, and air it. I had it on this morning while i was getting ready, but turned it off when I actually saw who was on there.
i have more imporatnt things to do than listen to poor Brit whine.

I've met Britney a few times (none recently), and have been a fan for a long time (with a brief hiatus when she first met Kevin and really went off the deep end, although I do think she's come back a little bit). I agree she does some really head shaking things, but my encounters with her have always lead me to believe she's not as bad as her detractors like to believe. I think she's young, and possibly, had she really thought about it, might not have chosen this life for herself, if she hadn't already been a child-star. Yes, you're a celebrity, and you can't just decide one day that you're tired of that and return to non-celebrity life. The media doesn't allow it.

Re: the gum thing

She does this ALL the time, and she's been doing it for years. Even when she's presenting at award shows, she has the gum. It's distracting, but I personally think it's an anxiety thing. Something to self-sooth. Just my thoughts.

Re: The paparazzi thing

She's the queen of keeping her name in the papers, I agree. She finds ways to keep herself in the headlines, and she should understand that it's a two way street. However, I do think that with her (and certain other celebrities), the paps really do cross the line. Even when she's doing NOTHING career-wise, they're all over her and her family. I admit I'm just as guilty as the next fan, wanting to see the pictures, but that's only cause they're there...it's really so unnecessary to see her going grocery shopping 6 times a week.

Have any of you seen the shots of her on the beach? It's from an angle where her back is towards the camera, and all the photographers are in front of her. That shot was an eye opener for me...I hadn't realized how many cameras must be shooting at close range to get that "money" shot that ends up in the papers.

To me, the sad part for her is that she really CAN'T just ignore it and make it go away by trying to be as low-key as possible. They'll never leave her alone, not even if she divorced Kevin, remarried some high school math teacher in Louisiana, and returned there to raise her kids in a regular environment as a stay-at-home mom. They'd still be on her doorstep, in her backyard, peeking over the fences, even if she decided never to show her face to the media again.

And I think it all hit her when she had her baby that she was never going to have privacy, neither was her family, and her child will never know "normal."

And, also, I do agree that she's immature when it comes to taking responsibility and knowing when you'd be better to keep your mouth shut. I've read that people think she may be heading towards MariahCarey breakdownville...and who knows how stressed she'll be when the new baby arrives....

I agree that the media has gone over and beyond harrassing her at this point and are looking for things to write about her just to sell the photos and magazines, but I disagree that she will never get rid of the paparazzi.

People's attention fade. If Britney really wanted to get rid of the attention, she could do it. It would take time but think of all the celebrities over the years that people couldn't get enough of but you don't hear about anymore.
For starters, if she stopped dressing like she does and stopped doing some of the attention getting things she does, eventually the media attention would cool. It might take years but it definitely would cool as the public moved on to someone else and down the line people would be wondering whatever happened to Britney Spears.

Since her public persona has become more and more scattered and outrageous it leads me to think either she's really naive and needs to hire better people to advise her and work on her public image, or her dismay at the attention is only half hearted.

I just don't get the purpose of this interview. I haven't seen the whole thing, but to me it just makes her look worse. :confused3

Here comes the criticism of her looks, her posture, her make-up- what was she thinking??

I thought the point of this interview, was to "set the record straight". Saying your "country" to justify putting your sons life in danger is just pathetic to me. I've felt bad for her lately, especially when she tripped and was hysterical in that restaurant, but that comment bothered me. If you feel your in danger, call the police. Or, take 2 seconds to strap the kid (properly!) in his car seat. It's not hard!!! I wasn't in the situation, and I would! do anything to prevent my baby from being in danger, but come on. Please. She is just bringing this on herself.

She should have stayed with Justin. :sunny:
