My dd14 got money and gift cards for Christmas...of course they are burning a hole in her pocket. She somehow convinced me to go to the mall....OMG...it was worse there today then it was two days before Christmas!!!

What was I thinking??:sad2:

I did the same thing, with my two teenage DDs. OMG is right! It was a madhouse. An absolute zoo. I am beyond fatigued. It was most unpleasant from beginning to end, but somehow we survived and are now home safely. :rotfl:

I've never seen it so busy, they were actually making people line up to get into Coach.

My DH, who hates to shop, got this brilliant idea that he should return a few things he had & look for some golf shoes with the gift cards he received.

He dropped us off, did a few things he had to & then decided the best place to park would be the parking ramp! OMG - it took 1 1/2 hours to get out of the ramp!

Two of my DD's & myself actually went back in to the mall, walked through it & across the street to Borders to get the book she wanted. We still had to wait for a half hour for him & my other DD to pick us up.

I kept telling him it was a bad idea, but he didn't want to listen to me. He'll listen next time, I'm sure!

Ours was dead. I even brought my white cane in case their were crowds. We got there early a little after they opened. Front row parking. We stayed a good 3 hours and it hadn't picked up by the time we left. I also hit Kohls around 11 or so and it wasn't dead but it wasn't really that busy either.

We do have the nations highest unemployment rate including metro detroit so I am sure that has alot to do with it. I had gift cards and spent 72 cents over what I had in gift cards. My daughter came back with 300 dollas in gift cards.

I still have one for macy's, I couldn't find anything to buy there that was on sale. None of their surf or skate brand t shirts were on sale, the shoes were ugly, the dress I wanted was gone. They just didn't have good sales IMHO. I will save my gift card for spring I guess.

DD talked me into going to the mall today, too - our experience was just like Monique's - it was actually less busy than your average weekend day. We parked up close and didn't have to fight any crowds.

:confused3

I went to one of the anchor stores at the mall (didn't go into the mall itself though) and there were people there, but I wouldn't call it busy. I only had to wait a couple of minutes on line. The sales were really good though, so it was worth it.

I went out this morning to Target, Hallmark, and Barnes and Noble. Not nearly as busy as last year. Later this afternoon I went to a different Target and then to Kohl's and it had picked up a little bit, but still manageable. I got a lot of good stuff!

I went to the mall and it wasn't that bad. It was more crowded when we left then when we got there. The lines in the stores were long..but they had plenty of staff and they moved really really fast.

ours was very busy. DD21 works at Loft and it was especially busy. One hour wait for mall restaurants.

We went to one of the malls too. The one we went to was DEAD! It was like mid-Jan in a snowstorm!

We only went to game stop.:scared1: Holy Moly--That was a nightmare Did find everything we wanted though. They had games--buy 2 get 1 free. The girls bought for 6 for the Wii, and 3 for their DSs.

Rookies, the lot of ya.

I convinced my daughter that the best bargains are in January. ;)

I convinced mine to shop mostly online;) Thats how I only had to go to gamestop-They wanted to be able to play the games this weekend, and next week while out of school.

We went round and round about that too, but decided we didn't want to pay shipping for most of the stores she was interested in. But that would have been most ideal! :thumbsup2
