Do you have one? Do you use it? What do you like about it? What don't you like.

They have one on sale at Target for $40 that I was looking at getting and I was wondering about other people's experiences.

I love ours! I was never a toaster oven person, and always thought it was a waste of counter space, but we were given one for a wedding present and I reluctantly agreed to give it a try (DH wanted it). I am so glad I kept it!

Ours has a curved section at the back so we can bake a 12" pizza in it, which I've done many times. I use it all the time for snack foods kinds of baking, broiling, and toasting. I even used it to bake a loaf of bread once, and it worked fairly well, but not as great as a standard oven for that. My favorite use for it is to toast sandwiches to melt the cheese, or to re-heat leftover pizza (way better than microwaving).

The convection feature does speed up the baking process a little bit, but I haven't noticed that it makes as significant difference in baking times as a full-size convection oven does. Still, I do like having that option, and I have used it occasionally.

I'm ready to get rid of our toaster and just use the toaster/convection oven!

We have one. Almost never use it as an oven (which is weird because I used to use my old one all the time) but I HATE doing toast in it. 2 pieces of toast takes FOREVER. My mother has one too and she found the same thing, so she went and bought a 2 slice toaster to use whenever she wants toast.

To be honest I wish I had a regular toaster oven instead.

Love it! I use my toaster oven for almost everything. My stove/oven only gets used for the larger items like turkeys, hams, and roasts. Its also cooler in the summer to use the toaster oven.

I used to have one. My favorite thing to use it for was to toast peanut butter sandwiches. The bread would be perfectly toasted and the peanut butter would be nicely melted. :goodvibes

I am a toaster oven convert too. SIL got us one years ago for Christmas present. Loved it so much -- we bought a bigger one and threw away the toaster.

Just got one for Christmas - love it. Great for snack type frozen things, don't have to wait for the regular oven to pre-heat. I use it all the time!:thumbsup2

Check out www.epinions.com and search toaster ovens.

I loved my old cheap one. My husband suprised me with a new one. Kitchen Aid, stainless steel and beautiful. $150.00 :scared1:

I read the reviews on it and I will be taking it back. I found all of the flaws posted on the website to be true.

I'm thinking about the Target one too.

I'm thinking about the Target one too.

If this is the same one as online, it didn't get really great reviews at Amazon.

How are these on broiling? I have no oven in my kitchenette. So I use my current toaster oven all the time for broiling meats. It is pretty yukked up from baked on spatters now, that won't come off. I'd love to get a new toaster oven with the convection feature too.

My cousin's catering company uses several regular convection ovens in a portable size - but still larger than toaster oven size, all the time at events. The hors d'eovers come out really crispy & heat up fast. :)

I haven't broiled yet. But toasting takes forever and is uneven. The handle on the door gets really hot.

My husband bought me a new one because I said I was tired of crap and I wanted something stainless steel. Well, I just might have to take my piece of crap back out of the garage (it still worked, just looked horrible) and use it until I find one I like. It seems that the $40 ones work just fine. Heck, my old one only cost $20. Go figure!!!

I just bought this one yesterday at Target! Our expensive Cuisinart toaster oven died over the weekend. I never liked the Cuisinart one. It would beep for no reason anytime of day and cooked/toased unevenly.

We use our toaster oven all the time, probably as much or more than a microvave. I have a small rectangle stone from Pampered Chef that fits in it and is perfect for making chix nuggets and fish sticks for my 2 kids and for reheating pizza. I also use the toaster oven for garlic bread and lots of other things.

I am hoping I can do small batches of cookies and a few more things with this one. I have plugged it in and heated it this morning to burn off the "new" smell. It did get VERY hot around it.

Well, now I am really curious at how this will do with the basics. I have just put a piece of bread in to see how it toasts. I will let you know in about 4-6 minutes!

We're waiting...........................:surfweb:

Well, it isn't fast. One piece of bread on the top rack--basically in the middle and I did it for 6 mins at first and it wasn't toasted. Another cycle and after about 4 more minutes it is beautiful!

Evenly toasted golden brown on top. A bit light on the bottom, but I don't have a problem with that. I think it just takes a bit to heat up. If I have time I will probably "preheat" it for a few mintues to get it going. We use it most in the morning for frozen waffles, bagles and pancakes so I think it will work for us. I dont' have anything to bake right now or I would try.

My kids like butter on the bread before it is toasted, and cheese toast, cinnamon toast etc.. So the toaster oven is just a much better option for us. I dont' have space for a toaster and toaster oven, and use it for lots more so I think I like this one. I sold my toaster in a garage sale years ago.

As I said before, I had a $100 Cuisinart and didn't like it and it broke after 2 years. DH is an engineer and took it apart and said it was wired bad which is why it broke. He didn't want to fix it because he was afraid the wiring could cause a fire eventually.

$40 for a new on makes me happy. Even if it only lasts for 2 years I won't be as upset as when my $100 broke! I do love the basic B&D ones, and had one for years until is started setting everything on fire! But I need one that can do at least 6 pieces of toast for all that we do.

Hmmm, I just remembered that I have a roll of choc. chip cookie dough in the fridge. I think I need to see how it does. . .

Well, I guess I'm convinced to return my Kitchen Aid and buy a cheapie.

I agree that it hurts less when a cheap one goes rather than an expensive one.

2 pans of cookies are in. The interior is small. The pan I used in my old doesn't fit. I will probably need to buy a new metal pan. It comes with a dark, non stick broiler pan. I covered in in foil for the cookies

Another selling point to me was that the crumb tray and racks can go in the dishwasher.
