to tip or not to tip?

That is the question.

I had carpet cleaners come today ( wow they did a great job!) I paid them what I was quoted then after they left I wondered if I should have tipped them


So should I have?

What other odd situations would you wonder about tipping for?

I never have because I am not quite sure how good the job truly is until the carpet dries.

I had an experience of carpet drying and not looking very good.

No, I don't think I would tip a carpet cleaner. But then again, I never even thought to tip the Mousekeepers until I read it here!! Now we tip all hotel housekeepers no matter where we go!!
