How much is it extra a day? And why don't you do book a moderate hotel instead? Trying to decide for my 2012 trip what to do since I kind of want to stay at AOA, because I'm pretty sure we're going to book the bounceback on our next trip. Thanks :goodvibes

I haven't priced out all of the options, but its around $16.50 per person per night in Value Season. While i would love to bump up to POFQ, for our 5 night stay next fall, I'm looking at +$300 over paying for the upgrade from ASSp and all I really need is a bed. DW likes taking a day off from the parks and hanging out by the pool; but again, that difference buys some nice souvenirs.

Its cheaper for us to pay the Diff in the plans with our small family. Dd prefers ASMu to any of the moderates we have stayed at.

It's 16.55/person/night during Value season. In the Dining Plan board it'll tell you all the different costs per person (adult/kid/peak prices) to upgrade and all that jazz.

If you price it out on Disney's site using the FD link, and select the DDP, it'll give you the price with the upgrade included (ie. it's only charging the upgrade, not the full DDP price).

We upgraded this year when it was $11 per person per day. I felt it was worth it. Booked bounceback for next year staying again at ASMo and upgraded to DDP. Next year the price is $16.55 per person per day. I thought I would be charged at the todays prices but I wasn't. The difference between value w/qs and moderate with ddp is a couple hundred dollars. I didn't feel that spending the extra money to stay as a moderate was worth it as the only time we are in the room is to sleep.

Last year it was going to cost about the same to upgrade to a mod as it would to upgrade to DDP, so we went with POFQ.

It seems sometimes you till only get QS at the mods, though? I was crunching numbers for that and I was going to say if we do free dining next year, we will just take the QS and pay out of pocket for CRT, since that's the only TS that the kids haven't done yet and really want to do. But I calculated that it would be about the same to upgrade as to pay for that one meal OOP so I guess we will probably just upgrade if we get free dining.

We go for 2 weeks so we just stick with the QSDP. We have done it the last 2 years and prefer it. It is cheaper to pay for 4-6 ts meals op than to upgrade to the RDP and we actually like the value resorts so no need to pay the extra 1100.00 to upgrade.
