To the RV owner and his big black Great Dane at DL.. UPDATE :)

Hey I just want to say thanks for all the nice things everyone has said about us. :goodvibes  :grouphug:  I dont know what to say.
We havent heard from the owners but I know they will be getting their dog from the pound tomorrow.
We went to the Disney Store on Hollywood Blvd today. Dfi bought me a Fairy's pin of Silvermist and some Jack Skellington socks. We had a sundae and it just hit the spot.
we are still a bit freaked out, but its getting better.
I hope everyone has a great week and all the nice comments really touched my heart.
Thanks everyone~
Big Hugs:)

Wow! How wonderful of you guys to risk so much to save a poor animal who didn't know what trouble he was headed for. That is truly amazing. I am happy that no one, including that beautiful dog, was seriously injured. I would send you a huge hug if I could. The world would be better off with more people like you :)

Wonder how much that vet bill cost as opposed to the kennel? Penny wise pound foolish. That's why they dont allow RV dogs at Fort Wilderness.

Did you ever hear from the dog's owners?

No, but we often think of the dog.:dog: I just remember looking at him sitting in the back of my car waiting for the CHP to show up and take him to the vet. He rested his head in the same spot my dog does. I'm just happy to know that he will be alright.I don't know his name , so I have named him Marmaduke.;)
I dunno, maybe they were embarrassed or ashamed or something.I wouldn't have admonished them. I would have hugged them. All I know is that my dog flower had just died on Jan 17th., and there was NOTHING I could do to save her, I would be darned to not at least try to save that dog on the freeway that day. It was very personal. It is still very surreal. I truly believe in miracles.
Big hugs to everyone!:grouphug: :disrocks:
And again, I do acknowledge the constant and abundant overuse of the emoticons :lmao:

not saying that its right, but i probley would have left my dog in the rv as well. i mean a in a car i wouldn't but in a rv i would feel fine cause they have access to water, aswell as a bed to sleep on and more room to move around tthen in the kennels.... i wouldnt think twice about leaving the dog in the rv.... then agaib now might be a diffrent story ;) but ..... b4 now i probley would have done it too

Janice , the CM said that the RV window had literally been pushed out! He was out looking for his people and ended up with us all on the freeway.:scared1: I do think that logically, yes it would seem like a good idea to leave a pet in an RV because it seems like a home away from home. I suppose if it were a smaller pet that would not have the strength to push out a window it would be alright. But he was a HUGE Great Dane . The only thing that kept that dog from hot wiring the RV is the fact that he didn't have thumbs.;)
It was really just the perfect storm. Luckily if he were smaller, he would have been creamed on the freeway.
But he will be fine. That is what we were told by the CHP who called us the next day.
