In case you're reading this, I'd love to know what happened with your room... To everyone else, I have got to share a chat that I had with a lady on the beach in Granada.
We were on the Wonder, January 31st sailing when I met a very friendly and chatty lady. If I remember correctly she was in management for Marriott. She was an ex Disney CM. She was sailing on a CM discount on the Wonder as a guest of one of her friends (who, obviously, is a current CM).
She was sailing in an inside room. And her air conditioning was broken. Every day of the cruise was sunny with temps in the mid 80s. I can't imagine how hot and stuffy an inside room would be on that cruise. At least with a balcony, you could open the doors and let in some breeze.
She had complained at Guest Services and was given a case of water. And an air purifier. But, the air conditioner still didn't work. I asked her if she'd requested to be moved and she told me that she was told she couldn't be moved. The ship sailed full. I shared with her that I could have upgraded at the port (I got there early and went to the supervisor's desk but was only interested in CL). So, there had to be open rooms because there were upgrades available.
She told me that she didn't really want to make a stink as her friend was still a CM. I told her though I totally *got" not making a scene, I certainly would NOT spend 7 nights in the southern Caribbean with no air conditioner and no window.
After I assured her that if there were upgrades available at port so there had to be empty rooms, she said she was going back to Guest Services. Unfortunately, I never ran into her again.
I'd love to hear the resolution.
