To stroller or not to stroller....

Well, now that is a silly assumption ;) Of course not....it's just that they are soooo wide , that no one can manuever...that's all. Like I said, it's my opinion. And as for how many children I have - does not matter.
I still think they are just huge!

Should wheelchairs also be banned? :confused3 As a SAHM, there were years where I had to use a double stroller. Heck, with twins, for more than a year, I really had no other option (especially since dd wasn't even 2 when they were born). Many times, they are absolutely necessary, unfortunately.

Well, you know your child best.....

however I too was on the fence with our almost 5 yr old. I really didnt want to rent one as it's $$$$, and I didn't want to have to drag one around. I couldn't have asked for a better kid! Not once did she complain about being tired. That includes the 12 hrs spent at EPCOT, and a MNSSHP evening! We did have sit down meals which helped break up the time.

As for your double wide - sorry, I am sure I will get flamed here :rotfl:, but leave it at home. Those things are so wide - IMO, they shouldn't be allowed in any stores or restaurants. Same thing with those huge jogging strollers, they are the Hummer of strollers - sorry, just a few bad experiences last week :rolleyes1

Since you are getting flamed I'll help with the heat!

I agree 100%!!!

Especially those monstrosities of double wide joggers. If you need a double what ever happened to the behind each other type ? I had several bad experiences with those side by side huge things myself. And if you have to use one it doesn't make you more special or more entitled I don't have to move so it isn't inconvenient for you.

My dd has never done Disney in a stroller. She was 5 last year when we went and 6 this year and never once did she ask for a stroller. She once said "Mommy, aren't you glad I don't need a stroller?" I had to laugh as she was so serious about it. There were many bigger kids in strollers and I was so thankful my kids did not feel the need for them. We did 5 days strainght in the parks and not once did I deal with any complaints from my youngest. My 11 year old only complained a couple of times but her foot was also swollen in one area so I knew she was hurting but she did not want a wheelchair.

Well, since I was the one "flaming" her (or perhaps defending those of us who had no choice), the tandem strollers are much harder to push (had one with #1 and #2, 20 months apart). I'm guessing you, and the PP, either have only children, or have children spaced more than 3 years apart. I rarely see full sized joggers in stores or theme parks.

Thanks so much for the input. I am still considering bringing a single stroller for my 5yo. Also however, I would not hesitate to bring my double side-by-side if I thought my children would be more comfortable. It is no wider than Disney's double stroller. I also believe there is NOTHING wrong with using a double wide stroller in a theme park. :)
