To Staples Centre from Anaheim

My DF and I are planning on seeing a Lakers game (my favorite team!) when we're there in November, but he doesn't want to rent a car and drive.

Last time I visited Disney with a friend, we had a towncar pick us up and drive us to LA and back for a broadway show.

Does anyone have any alternate transportation suggestions or would that still be our best bet?

You can take the MTA 460 bus from DLR (stops on Harbor Blvd near the shuttle entrance) to downtown LA. The Figueroa and Olympic stop (see the map) would be a block from Staples Center.
