We have a value Disney resort booked for the first week and a half of our trip but have 5 nights free after that. We are wanting to visit Seaworld and Universal. Had thought about booking one of the Seworld official hotels, my daughter loves animals and I enjoyed Seaworld last trip so thought maybe we could get a couple of visits in. But am now questioning if maybe we should just extend our Disney resort stay and do day trips there as that way we still have the ME back to airport. Am so confused lol

Is it worth switching hotels? We might save a little but then would need to pay to get to airport.
But if we stay at Disney we would need to pay to visit the non-disney parks (not renting car).

Would love to hear your thoughts :) Tia!

I personally wouldn't want to pack up all my things mid trip. I like to get settled in and just enjoy vacation. Packing up and moving with kids is a hassle. However it you are going to several different theme parks it might be worth it to move to get their onsite perks. How important are those onsite perks to you? Have you considered staying offsite for the whole trip in one location? You might find you save money overall, have more space, and get a rental car for cheaper than it would cost to stay onsite at multiple locations. For me, it would be a money vs time decision. I would need to write it all out, decide on logistics and make an informed decision.

Are the onsite Seaworld hotels the same price as your value Disney hotel? Are you going to anything else Disney in those 5 days? A busride back to the airport doesn't seem like a good reason to stay, to me. If you enjoy the hotel, stay. Many other hotels have shuttles to the airport, even if there's a charge. But like you said, the cab/uber ride to the other parks will cost you, too. Definitely the packing up is a hassle, but if you're prepared for it and know you're only in a location for a day or two (or 5), then it's not so bad, vs the convenience and the perks of being on location. But surely you're not doing 5 days at Seaworld, are you? If you're considering Universal, staying in one of their (premium) hotels, even for a night, will give you 2 days worth of park perks (day before and day after stay). Front of the line access is worth quite a bit if you have to pay for it.
