So, Disney just released the summer deal that ends on August 14. That happens to be the day we check in.

I'm assuming that we cannot get the deal because most of our vacation is not within the time frame allotted. However, do you think it's worth my while to take advantage of the deal for one night and then start a new reservation on August 15.

We already have some sort of deal on our vacation that took it down from $3800 to $3500 range but I don't think it's as good as the 20% being offered now for our Port Orleans Riverside room.

I'm so confused as to what to do and how to know what would be the most economical. I'd really appreciate some help quickly.

We have done may split stays and are doing one when we go in June as well. I think if it going to save you money go for it. If you are doing both stays at the same resort than just let them know that and they will try to accomadate you so you do not have to switch rooms. The discount is applied to the tickets as well.

Are you looking at doing a split at the same resort? If so, i agree with the PP, they are usually very accomodating.

I know that when I used a pin code, even though it said it expired on a certain date, you only had to check in by that date and it applied to the whole reservation. Not sure if the summer deal is the same way, but I'd definitely call and ask. I'm sure someone on here knows for sure.

If not, then no, I probably wouldn't split the reservation for just one night.

I wouldn't split for just one night unless the savings was significant. Even if you stay at the same resort, your chances are good that you won't have to change rooms, but there is that slight chance you will have to move.

I plugged in dates for the summer deal checking in 8/14 and a reservation can be made that way, but the room discount is only for 8/14 and goes to rack rate for the rest of the nights. Free dining is usually the only discount that carries through for the entire time if you check in by the last day, with room discounts being date specific.

Thank you all so much for your advice. I think I am going to wait and see what kind of deal they come out with for 8/15. Likely, I will move my dates so that check-in for us in on 8/15 and avoid the whole split-stay decision. It also occurred to me that the PIN I used to book my trip probably gave me the same deal as they are offering now anyway.
