I keep debating weather to sign on to Creative Memories
just so I can buy everything I need at discounted prices!

That is sooo bad I know!
But I NEED to get refills, page protectors, and a new set of albums for the new 'guy or gal' So I KNOW that I will spend at least $300 right there!

I have been thinking that I can REALLY justify it if I do a fundraiser every 3 months or so (inspired by Kelly I am thinking of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life for the first one!)

That would be a way to 1 - get out of the house once every three months 2-raise money for charities and contribute to society 3- reduce my costs of cm supplies and 4 - another tax write-off

so what do you all think!

It sounds to me that you would be signing up for all the right reasons. CM has pretty low requirements to stay a consultant. You have to buy the starter kit, but you can use the items as stock if you have them already- then you have to place a $500 order. After that you just need to buy $500 retail every three months, which ends up being $300 ish out of pocket. I used to be a consultant and really loved it- I only left because I dont like to be out of the house on weeknights or weekends so I did it for my own personal use for two years. I miss having the inside scoop on new products- and I went to Showcase one year which was one of the best experiences of my life. Would you have a Unit Leader near you- My best friends are still the people that were in my unit- even though I am not a consultant anymore!

Oh I forgot- I wrote off a trip to Mall of America- where the hom eoffice is- and a trip to Disney World where we went to regionals. I also wrote off both my phone and internet chanrges every month too! I miss taht tax write off!

Wow! What a good idea! I have often thought about becoming a CM consultant, since I absolutely love their albums and such. But most of my friends that I would need to help me get started either don't scrap or think CM is too expensive. What a wonderful way to help yourself out and help out your favorite charities. I say go for it!!! And let me know how it goes, I may be interested in doing the same thing!

I fully believe that if you love the company's product and use tons of it, it cool that you can join to get the discount.

Just an idea..... This is what I did. ( It wasn't with CM, althought I do love their tools.) It was with Stampin UP. To lessen the pressure of worrying about meeting their minimum of $300/quarter. I found three really close friends plus myself to commit to spend $75 each per quarter. We were spending more than that before I even signed up, and now I get the discount.

Plus then you get to hear about all the new things coming out first and get all the other benefits that the company offers.

Good luck.
Janine ;)

PS Thanks a bunch for doing the last SS!!!!!!!!!!! It was so much fun and was alot of your time to do it. Sending Mouse hugs your way.

Gee, what do you think I am going to say? :p

Seriously though, Creative Memories is what you make of it- do you only want to do your $500/$350 (our price) order every 3 months? No problem. No one will be breathing down your neck to do more. NO ONE! I get occasional emails, not from my upline, but from the gal above her giving tips, etc., but it's not too obnoxious...plus I can always press the delete button! Like someone else said, besides doing a fundraiser for charity (AWESOME idea), if you have 3-4 friends who like to scrap, it is EASY to meet that minimum. And trust me, at first, you will be surprised at how many people want to order from you. I had friends who were interested in CM, but didn't want to buy from a stranger and feel the pressure to do classes and such, but once I signed, I seriously had 3 friends who bought several hundred dollars worth of product within the first 2 months I was a consultant. I sold my entire starter kit to one gal!

Plus the tax write off, as we discussed.

Plus, it is SO cool to be up on all the new products, I find it keeps me motivated to keep up in my albums...plus regional convention is right around the corner and I'm so excited to see all the new stuff.

I am not one of the CM gals who is just ECSTATIC about being a CMC, and thinks it's the greatest thing ever, and oh my gosh, you just "HAVE" to be a consultant, and oh I am going to get a dozen recruits----I'm just like you----I want the stuff at 30% off, I can write off my favorite hobby, I can offer quality products to friends and family members without them feeling like they have to do a party, and I have met some really nice new people hosting once a month crops at my home. Being a stay at home mom for the first time since I have had kids (I worked outside the home for the first 6 years) I have to say that it gives me a little something fun to do on the side, and most months I have brought in $100-200 a month in commission. Right now it's slow, being after Christmas, and our area is iced in, but I am anticipating it will pick up in a few weeks.

PM me or email if you have any other questions! :D
