Ok, we are going to typhoon lagoon in Sept. In our group is a 15 year old boy that is very fair skinned. He burns quickly. Besides using high spf sunblock he usually keeps his shirt on when in the water. We are concerned if that will be a problem while at Typhoon lagoon. Can he keep his shirt on while riding the slides, etc.

I also burn quickly with sunscreen washing off. I wore a shirt in the wave pool but i think you can't wear them on the slides. I suggest go early do the slides and wave pool last and your son should be okay.

There are no restrictions on shirts. Go ahead a wear them. There are restrictions on buckles and rivets as well as shoes/hats/glasses on the body slides.

We always wear shirts, at least part of the day, at the water parks. He won't have any problems on any slides, etc and it does spare a nasty burn.

My DS also burns. I bought him a swimming shirt at Old Navy that was really cheap last year before we went (I don't remember the price but I think it was around $10). It was great and saved him every day when we went to the water parks. It was made out of a material that felt the same as a girl's suite. If you look around at sporting good stores you will also find them.

I recently bought a sun-protective swim shirt (surfers call it a "rash shirt") that actually has an spf value. It's made of swimsuit material, so it doesn't get baggy when wet like a regular t-shirt. Something you might consider looking into. I found mine at Big 5 Sporting Goods for $20.00, but you can also find them at a lot of places online. Mine is made by Body Glove, but there are other brands out there as well.

Happy watersliding! :jumping3:

I also recommend the swim shirts! :thumbsup2 My sons wore theirs to Blizzard Beach in May. We also bought ours at Old Navy, but I've seen them other places too. These shirts are so much better than a cotton t-shirt (which will stretch out and stay wet).

Have fun at Typhoon Lagoon. It is so cool!! :cool1:

Land's End sells Rash Guard shirts for all ages.

41 (Today yea ME ) but yes I just like to wear a shirt and I did at both TL & BB everyday our last trip.

The rash guards are good but might get a bit hot in the summer ( they are tight fitting)

I use the CoolMax or Dry-fit ,UnderArmour shirts that are loose fitting and they dry very fast .I also wear these at the parks as well they work great
