To ship the dress or no

I am trying to figure out how to get my dress to FL. I'm from NJ and I am not looking forward to carrying my dress with me on the plane. I see that Carolyn Allen's will hold your dress for you before the wedding and bring it to your room. I like the idea but I am super nervous about shipping my dress. Can anyone tell if they did ship their dress to Carolyn Allen's and how the experience was or if you decided not to ship your dress, why and how was the plane ride. With 63 before the wedding, I'm getting a little nervous about all of this so any advice/suggestions will be helpful!

My suggestion is to ship it BUT ship it fedex with tracking and have it arrive atleast 3 days before you arrive. (just in case)

Traveling with a dress is stressful and it would stink if the airline lost it on the way down.

I shipped mine to Carolyn Allen's, and it arrived a week before we got to Orlando. It was totally fine. I'm not gonna say I wasn't a tad nervous, but I insured the H outta the package and sent it FedEx with no problem. Even better, CA shipped it back to my house afterward for me!

I put mine in a garment bag and then into a cardboard box. Shipped it insured to Carolyn Allen's. they are great and that was about the easiest, best money wrll spent out of the whole thing.
