Hello everyone! Here we are, just a few days after our short WDW trip. There were great moments, some frustrating ones, and some things were checked off our must-do list. But the memories that will always stand out will be the look on our DD's face as she saw her favorite characters and watched some incredible shows/parades! I will officially start up tomorrow. I hope you enjoy the ride!

First off, in case you didn't catch my PTR, here is the cast of characters.

Me: Christina, a 27-year-old stay-at-home mom. I  Disney (obviously), scrapbooking, reading, crafting, baking and cooking. My goals for this trip were to meet Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen as well as go to MNSSHP (if it wasn't raining). Did I accomplish these? :confused3

DH: Aaron, a 31-year-old sailor. He has developed a love of Disney since we started going when DD was only 2 months old. I think he started to love it the first time we went to CRT and he saw our DD's reaction. :lovestruc I think his only goal for this trip was to have fun. :)

DD: Ashlyn, a beautiful 2 year old princess. She actually turned 2 the day after we got home from our trip. Her favorite characters are Mickey, Minnie, Aurora, Ariel, and Pooh. She ended up really liking Piglet this trip, too. She loves coloring, dancing, and going to the playground.

DMIL and DFIL: They live in lower Alabama (where Aaron grew up) and were able to join us for this trip!

Some more details of our trip:
When: September 22nd - 24th
Where: Port Orleans French Quarter (a first for us)
Why: To celebrate Ashlyn's 2nd birthday!

All of you make a lovely cast of characters! :goodvibes I hope things went smoothly traveling with your inlaws! I'm sure they loved seeing Ashlyn again!

I'm here!! Can't wait to hear all about the trip!!! By the looks of the first pic, it seems that you went to MNSSHP!! Hopefully the rain held off!!

Haha...Shhhh! I noticed that too! ;)

:lmao: Yeah, I realized right away that I gave away the answer to that question, but last week was just crazy so I totally didn't care. :rotfl: All three of us were sick for awhile after we got back, then once I started to feel better I had to put everything together for Ashlyn's birthday party this past Saturday. Things are just getting back to normal around here! We were sprinkled with some pixie dust to get that seat for the parade, though, so (in my mind at least) that story will make up for giving the secret away. :rotfl2:

Just a quick update before I work on getting some pictures up. I am so sorry for starting this TR and then abandoning it for a little while. This past week was just crazy and things are just starting to really get back to normal around here. We were all sick for awhile, then when I started feeling at least a little better I had to start getting everything together and ready for Ashlyn's party this past Saturday. The party was a hit, we're all feeling wonderful, and the house is starting to look like normal again, so I'm ready to start back up with the TR! :cool1: Thank you to those who have stuck around. I will have an update today.

Okay, let's see, where did I leave off... oh, that's right, at the beginning! ;) We flew into Florida on Saturday the 18th but we had a medical appointment in Jacksonville on Monday so we didn't go to Disney right away. I'll just do a brief overview of our few days in Jacksonville so I can get on to Disney for you all. :thumbsup2 Ashlyn was born with mild hip displasia and we've been flown off island to get them checked out by a specialist since she was 8 days old. It had been a year since she was last checked out and this time the x-rays showed that her hips have formed perfectly and there will be no need for surgery in the future! YAY! :cheer2: We will miss seeing the friends we made at Nemours, but we all have each others emails so we'll be able to keep in touch for happy, non-medical purposes. :)

Tuesday afternoon, Aaron's parents drove down from Alabama to join us. We had a little mini-birthday party for Ashlyn with cupcakes Aaron's parents brought down. But just a couple of hours after Ashlyn went to sleep, she woke up and threw up in her bed, then all over me. I was really worried about her because she's never thrown up before besides spit up when she was a baby. She slept in our bed that night and was fine in the morning. She acted like she felt a bit icky (can't blame her!) but as the morning went on, she started acting normally. So I guess the cupcakes just didn't sit well on her tummy. Poor girl. :( But I'm so glad she felt better afterward!

During our few days in Jacksonville, we ate at some of our favorite places, looked at the outdoor aviation museum I guess you could call it at NAS Jax, which is where we were staying, and we took Ashlyn to the Museum of Science and History which she just LOVED! We also did a lot of shopping, of course. :goodvibes

Wednesday morning came, we checked out of the NavyLodge, and made our way to Disney! :dance3: We knew we were going to be on the road during Ashlyn's naptime, and she hadn't slept well the night before, so I was praying she would get in a good nap. I knew it would be good for all of us! And she did... she slept almost the whole way! :cool1: Before we knew it, we started seeing all the signs for Disney and made our way to Port Orleans French Quarter!

I had seen pictures of POFQ online (I research and plan everything so of course I looked at pictures!) and thought it was just beautiful. And the pictures did not lie!

When I made our reservations I requested a corner room in building 5. I had said I just wanted a standard room so I wasn't expecting a water view or anything, but I was really hoping to be close. When we first got our room, it was in building 5 and it was a corner room with a view of the pool. We lugged all our stuff up to the room to find out that our keys wouldn't work!! :headache: There was a Mousekeeper right there and she looked at our keys and saw that the number they wrote down was supposed to be that room, so she let us in so we could use the phone and find out what room we were really supposed to be in. We knew that it definitely wasn't something wrong with the keys because there was a little set-up on the table for someone's anniversary. But they gave us our correct room number and we headed down. We were still in building 5 and we were now going to be on the first floor instead of the 3rd.

We weren't in a corner room, but guess what... here was the view.

Gorgeous!!! The room was just absolutely perfect for us. :goodvibes Here is another picture from just outside our room.

There was even a towel Mickey waiting to greet us.

To me, this room was worth going through the bit of confusion with the first room. I loved looking out the window and watching the ferry go by every now and then. We also heard the horse-drawn carriage go by one night. :cloud9: Aaron didn't know there were carriage rides and he felt bad that we weren't going to be doing it. I would much rather wait and do it when it's just the two (or three) of us instead of with his parents, too. I love my in-laws very much, but I just think I would enjoy something like that more with just our little family or as a romantic couple thing. :confused3 Anyway, right away I decorated the door and window for Ashlyn's birthday! Nothing big, just a couple of things I got from Milliepie's 4Shared files.

After a short rest, we were off to dinner! Stay tuned!

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better and things have calmed down!

I'm so happy that everything went well with Ashlyn. It must be a big relief to know that you don't have to worry about that anymore!

What a beautiful room! Well worth the hassle, certainly! It sounds amazing, with the ferry going by! I completely understand about the carriage ride...it is definitely something more intimate.

Cute decorations! Did you just tape the one onto the window? I have this big fear of using tape on the windows...there was a point where they were telling people they had to take down all window decorations! I have some for our room, but I'm unsure about how to put them up!

Can't wait to hear about dinner!
