To save on space, I bring along my BIG bottle of aspirin & put a lot of my different "pills" in there. (All legal!! Examples: nasal decongestant, tylenol, aleve, heart burn, etc.) So, in the parks, I only need that ONE bottle in my bag! (Also, I know the difference in pills & dose, so that is not a concern. Neither is the "one pill rubbing off onto another.." Never an issue! LOL)

What do other DISers do to save space? :goodvibes

Are you driving or flying. If fly the pills all need to be in there oringal bottles

To save on space: We put a complete outfit into a Ziploc bag, squeeze out the extra air, and it saves not only space, but time. Each morning we're able to pull out one baggie with a complete outfit.

To save on space: I always take a pop up hamper for the resort room. It's nice to throw in the sweaty clothes then on our "day off" from the parks I can haul it down to the laundry room. Well, on the trip there and back (we drive) I use the empty hamper as storage.

I keep a small baby aspirin bottle in my purse with tylenol, benadryl, and advil in it. It is SO handy to have some of each handy. I've been battling an earache for a few days and it sure is nice to know I have something to make me feel better.

I use an empty Altoids container for things like this.

I probably wouldn't put different medications in one bottle - I remember being cautioned about that in chemistry class and by a pharmacist. You might have things reacting together in the bottle in a way that could be harmful to your health.

I usually fly so I travel with purse size packages of my OTC meds - I just don't need the hassle of explaining unmarked pills to a customs officer! If I was driving, I'd probably get one of those pill sorters - the little plastic boxes with compartments for each day of the week, sort the pills that way - one compartment for each med. Everything will be in one place, but separated into compartments to avoid cross contamination.

Other space saving tips:
  1. Pack travel size toiletries only. When I get to my destination, I buy larger bottles and I'll leave them behind at the end of the trip. Ditching half a bottle of shampoo is a lot cheaper that paying overweight baggage fees!
  2. Adopt a minimalist approach to packing - pack fewer clothes and do laundry during the trip. Absolutely no denim or other bulky fabric
  3. Travel with miniatures - e.g. I have a tiny hair brush that I bought just for travel
  4. I like the over-the-door shoe organizer idea for keeping toiletries, etc tidy. Cluttered bathroom counters drive me NUTS especially in a small hotel bathroom!

Try traveling on a harley for a couple weeks with everything you own for the trip in a saddle bag that is half full with your rainsuit an jacket before you put anything else in the bag. WOW now with a bigger bike an trunk now I get to pack a pair of extra shoes in case one pair gets wet I still got another pair.

We going to on a road trip soon gonna end up at disney be gone 2 weeks I taking 2 pairs of jeans for the ride down an back gotta have jeans for riding. 4 shirts the shirts I can wear in park an riding. 2 bras, 4 panties 4 pairs of socks, swimsuit, crocs. 2 pairs extra shoes, 3 pairs of shorts along with jean jacket an rainsuit. The tolietries goes in an insulated lunch box thing when it's full it time to stop loading tolietries then I got another box same size for our cell phone charger, meds an camera oh an my gum gotta have gum.

having had to travel for work, I got in the habit of using the space bags, and the packing cubes! I folded and packed a lands end parka into a space bag, then when I fly from California to the east cost in the winter, I am covered!!

when we go to WDW, we pack enough clothing for half the trip, and do laundry on a "down day" in the middle, where we do the laundry at the hotel, then just hang out by the pool, or take a quick mini-trip to a park for lunch and a ride or two!

Instead of using a single bottle to pack my meds, I use a pill organizer like this:
organizeeverything1_2058_1696622320

I've seen them at WalMart (in the Trial/Travel isle), and at Five Below. I can get a whole week's worth of meds in the box, and it keeps them organized and separate, while taking the same amount of space in my luggage as a deck of cards.

we got several of those at the container store, they are great for things besides pills!

I like to package each day's meds in a tiny zip baggie - they are easy to slip into a pocket or handbag if you need to take them later in the day, saves a lot of space in packing since you can put them down in a cosmetic bag or something (if you're driving.) You can get all sizes of baggies at Michael's or ACMoore or Hobby Lobby in the jewelry-making section. I also like to take along an assortment of all sizes of baggies on every trip - great for stashing things you want to bring home, like shells or shark teeth, little tickets or memorabilia, things like that. Or you can use them for snacks for the parks, or to bring home damp swimsuits, muddy shoes, dirty socks - depending on what kind of vacation it is - ha!

I'm trying the Ziploc bag idea on our next trip. We also travel with a pop-up hamper. I don't do laundry on vacation, but I like to have a place for our dirty clothes. It helps keep the room tidy.
