To Room Request or Not

I have been pondering this for the past few weeks and thought I'd throw it out and see what everyone else thought.

I generally do not send in a room request when staying at a deluxe resort. I have when staying at a moderate such as CSR. Do you think your "overall" chances of possibly being upgraded are better if you "do not" send in an initial room request? Do you think sending in a room request has "no" impact at all?

I'm just curious. I have a woods view at WL booked for early May and have been contemplating whether it made sense to put in a request. I've stayed there twice before and both times I did not place a request. I guess I just never thought about it for whatever reason. If I decided to place a request, does anyone have any suggestions on a possible room location?

I have stayed on site at least 8 or 9 times at both mederate and deluxe. We have never sent room requests only requesting non smoking or connecting rooms or MK view at CR Tower on our reservation. If we have any additional ideas or requests we usually deal with them on check in. We have always had great rooms and have never been upgraded, but then it would never occur to us to be upgraded or even hope to get one. I don't think room requests help or hinder anything just as I believe check in time makes no difference either. I think it all depends on being at the right place at the right time and there is nothing you can do about that. If it makes YOU feel better then by all means do it.
