Hi i am going to universal during thanksgiving and i dont know if i should ride the mummy or not ride it i have a few questions.

1, Is there any flips or big, big, big drops
2, what is the movment like
3. what is scary about it
4. anything else i should know

Well...ROTM is a high speed rollercoaster type of ride. There are no loops or huge drops although there are two drops that might be considered high. I think the aspect of the ride that scares people is the fact that it's indoors and is in the dark for most of the ride. I love ROTM and ride it at least once everytime I go over to the Studios.

My advice....just bite the bullet and give it try!

alright i want to try it thanks for filling me in oh and is there a certain age you would say should not go

The coasters with the most action are in plain view. In fact, pretty much all the rides are very upfront with their scary parts. You should be able to tell by looking at the ride, whether or not you can do it. Pretty much everything at the studios is tame. IOA has the thrills.

Some coasters will make me sick, but the Mummy is a great great ride, very smooth, I didn't come close to getting sick. Its really just fast, if you can handle fast you can handle it no problems.

What is scary about it is the story and the animatronics and visuals, its a visually stunning ride and the animatronics are probably some of the best if not the best in the world, truely a great ride and probably the best dark scary ride in existence anywhere at any park. Its a must do.

The height requirement is 48 inches. My daughter isnt there yet, and she's 6. She doesnt really want to go, but she can handle Everest, and that IMO is much scarier and rougher than mummy. The reason why is the dark. Its like Space Mountain or Rock N Roller Coaster....its in the dark. But the drops are not intense, there are no loops, and its really fast. Props pop up, there are a few scary images.....but nothing gory or nasty. Its really fun.

Hmmm, how close to the riders do they pop up? Does anything touch the riders? I have a slight degree of necrophobia ;) and wouldn't like mummies (or anything deathly looking:scared1:  ) to be popping up right next to me. But I'd love to finally try the ride.

The mummies look close, but they're several feet away from the railcar. It's the scarabs you have to worry about. They bite. :darth:

:jester:

You just had to say that, didn't ya??:rotfl: Are you determined to encourage a few more additional phobias?:rotfl: Entomophobia anyone? Well, count me in....:headache: So seriously... Does anything ever touch the riders?? You know how there are these 4D attractions with "bugs" running under your seat..... anything like that?

Aside from water droplets and mist, no.
But there's that whole getting swallowed ordeal. Luckily it's just bad mummy breath. Or maybe it's just green mist. ;)

Ahhh, see, that's much better. Ok, looks like I can handle this ride. Thanks for clarifications!
