To queue, or not to queue...

The closer I get to my 60 day mark, constantly rethinking my FP+ booking plans for our first trip to WDW, the more I wonder about missing the queue lines with FP+. I've read and heard about the many (most?) attractions that have well themed queues, which are part of the overall experience for that attraction. These queues extend that experience beyond just the 'ride' portion of the attraction.

So, here's my question for the experienced WDW guest: Which of the 'E' ticket attractions, those which you know usually have long standby lines, have queues well worth the wait. Or, do the FP+ entrance/line still lead through the themed portion of the queues?

The only SB queue that we love is that for HM. There are some other cute queues, but none that I would choose to stand in if I had a FP.

Toy Story Mania has a fun queue with all the models of games and toys and the talking Mr. Potato head. Everest in AK has some things to look at in it's queue...but it's hard to tell if it's worth standing in a long standby line to see it.

Depending upon the standby line...if it's moving nicely you will just be walking through the queue keeping up with the crowd just noticing things, but not really paying much attention to them as you're moving ahead. If you stop while a queue is moving to look at something the guests behind you may not like that because you're holding them up so you feel compelled to keep on moving.

If it's a very long slow moving line, you will be able to see things in the queues, but I'm not sure if it really makes up for the annoyance of waiting on a very long line.

If there are big ticket rides you really want to go on then I would reserve FP+ so this way you get on them and enjoy them. Remember you can always go on the ride again in standby line if you want to see more of the queue area.

Queues are overrated. You still see the theming when using FP+

I don't know if they still have that interactive queue at Soarin (Haven't been at WDW in a couple of years). That one is pretty fun. Dumbo if you are going with children. As someone said before, Toy Story Mania, Haunted Mansion and Everest have beautiful queues.

Usually you are able to see a good chunk of the queue even with FP+ though.

The only attraction I would choose not to use FP+ for simply because of the queue is Dumbo. That may change as my DS gets older, but we had to pull him out of that playground long after our buzzer went off, I don't think he even cared if we did the ride or not .

The other themed queues are better than nothing, but I don't think any of them are worth waiting in when you have the option of using a FP.

No queue trumps turning a 60 minute wait into 5 minutes. But, if you must experience the queue, then ride it twice. In this case, you get 2 rides for 65 min. After a few of these, you'll realize it's not worth passing up a FP for.
