On the phone Saturday with WDTC for final payment on July trip WOOHOO. :bounce:

The CM ask me if I had made any of my PS. I told him not yet. He then said I should, especially if we wanted to do any of the dinner shows. I asked him if it was going to be that busy. He said looks that way.

I have never called ahead for PS in the past. I usually go to front desk or at the park the for same day PS. Now that I have had time to think about it, was it just a ploy for me to book early? Maybe not. The problem is we know what parks we are doing on which days but I like to be very flexable we may have to switch plans.

We usually go in June or July and I know what the crowds can be like for that time of year.

Should I go ahead and make PS before we leave? We have never not gotten to eat where we wanted to in the past. It might not have been the time we wanted but we still got a seat.

Oh and there are 6 of us this year. Will the size of the party matter?

I'd make a PS for any meal you definitely want. I tend to make one or two PS's per trip, then wing it for the rest. Even in the summer, you can eat at most restaurants if you are willing to wait.

I would make PS for any meal that may be popular or that you really want to do. The popular tiimes can go quickly and if you can't get in you may be disappointed.

Make ps's for the ones you think you want - you can always cancel them and there's no harm done - and if you don't make it and don't get a chance to cancel it there's still no harm done (before anyone gets upset I don't make a practice of this - and when it has happened I figured I made another family VERY happy ).

Thanks to all. I will call tomorrow to make 3 PS.

#1 will be for Cinderella's Royal Table

#2 will be for Steak place in Canada (don't remeber the name)

#3 will be for Rainforest Cafe at AK (I hope we like this)

Just got back May 10th. Yes, I would definitely recommend PS's for the places you mentioned. The waits with no PS at those 3 restaurants was 30-45 minutes. We had PS and the longest wait was 5 minutes. Just a bit of a warning, although the food was okay at RFC in AK, the service was awful. We did a 2pm lunch that took us 1-1/2 hours because of the slow service.

Le Cellier is awesome but it's not very big. So yes, a definite PS for that one. CRT for anything other than breaky is not too bad but if you really want to eat there and not wait, make the PS.

Thanks again for all the replies. I called today and made PS seating for 4 of our 7 days. The rest we will play by ear. Everyone is so wonderful on this board. I do enjoy the wide array of knowledge each and everyone freely gives.

We make most of our PS for our trips. We make a couple at the last moment. We just returned and though it was suppose to be slow let me past this on to you. We had a PS for Hollywood and Vine for 5:50 PM (the last PS is 7:00 PM). Of course after the parade everyone heads to the restraurants pretty much. As we were in line the CM announced that there were no more opennings and unless you had a PS please leave the line!! This was in the middle of the week. We have a PS for every place we want to eat. We rarely spend all day in any park and usually just go to the parks for our meals. Since we use our rental car it's only a couple of minutes away. You can usually get into some places if you eat off times and since we are usually only 2, we are pretty lucky in getting a table.

We go the end of July and I have my 5:00 PM chef mickey ressie already because early ones are hard to get. Will start my others next week as I get close to my 60 day mark. since we go so often, we have our must places we HAVE to eat.

I usually make PS for dinners but last Nov my DD and I took a last minute trip with no PS. We had no problem getting to most of the places we wanted to go except Le Cellier. There was noting available for lunch or dinner for the six days we were staying.

I started off making a few PS' well in advance for our June trip. As it's getting closer, I decided to add in a few more, and even several weeks in advance I'm finding I can't get PS' anymore....in some cases, I can't get them at all, in other cases, e.g., CRT for Dinner in the middle of a week, I'd have to eat at 4:15. I imagine choices must be really limited if you wait and arrange PS when you arrive.
