To parks from Ft Wilderness

Realistically how long should we plan for bus transportation from Ft Wilderness to Studios and Magic Kingdom? Is there still a boat from campground to MK? Been a little while since we have stayed there but excited to be going back! Thanks ahead for any information!

Magic Kingdom has a boat. They are social distancing on them so leave some time in case you miss one boat. We had to wait once because the boat was full and another time we were the last people to board before they cut it off. The boats come every 20ish minutes. The ride itself is like 10 minutes. I can’t comment on the buses to the other parks since we drove our own car to the other parks.

In general I plan for an hour from the time we leave the room until the time we arrive at the entrance to a park. Disney advises 1.5hrs.

There are usually two boats running so if the ride is 10 minutes there should be a boat arriving about 10 minutes after one leaves the dock. Turn around at the dock is usually about 5 minutes.

As for total time. I would plan a minimum of 15 minutes for the internal bus to get you to the Outpost stop. Add 5 minutes if going to MK by boat to walk from Settlement stop to the docks. Once you get to the Outpost stop to transfer buses you need to budget at least another 30 minutes for waiting and travel time.
Basically I would budget 45 minutes to get to any park from FW, at a minimum.
As a general rule I plan on 30 minutes per leg of a trip and that is just to get to the park entrance.

We went in November and stayed at Wilderness Lodge and we just went the week after Presidents’ Day and the boats were definitely inconsistent. Sometimes we’d see a boat leaving and it felt like the next boat came only minutes later. Other times we waited a long time. Once we waited 25 minutes. I don’t know if they aren’t running all of them at this point, but it seemed like they didn’t always have the same boats going back and forth.

The only thing about driving to MK is that you have to drive to the TTC and then take the monorail or ferry over to the park. Better off just taking the boat, which takes you right to the park.

Went last week. Were very lucky - waited only few minutes for bus to marina, then few minutes to get on boat. 45 minutes was our journey time from cabin to MK. But like I said, we were very lucky. Were the only ones on bus and about 5 other people on boat. Was 10am on a Sunday
