I need help! My BF and I are going to be at WDW from September 4-7 this year. I'm struggling with the choice as to purchase meal vouchers for the 2 1/2 days we will be there. We are arriving fairly late on Saturday evening and leaving around 12:00 on Tuesday. I would like to do one "nice" dinner...either sun or Mon night but the rest of the time we'll most likely be eating at the parks and/or hotel snackbars.

Any suggestions as to whether it is worth it to spend the $$$ on the vouchers for such a short stay. If so, where is the best place to purchase them?

Thanks!

I brought 10 vouchers with me on our last trip- they saved me some money but not much. If you are staying at Yacht Club or Coronado I would say you should definately take some vouchers as their restaurants are the best for saving $$$ with vouchers.
At most places they amount to about a free dessert in my experience.

I wouldn't buy them unless you plan on returning before they expire next May. The last thing you are going to want to worry about on such a short trip is how to get to the restaurants that accept the vouchers.

You may want to plan a nice dinner at a restaurant that costs less than the dinner vouchers (Boma, Ohana, etc). Just think of the money you will save over the cost of the voucher.

I could be quite hot in early September. My appetite shrinks as the heat rises and desserts don't look as appealing as they do in winter.

At Animal Kingdom, take advantage of their meal deal that allows for an entree, large drink and ice cream later in the day.

I used the meal vouchers from Hotwire Savings Club last Dec. It was nice to have our meals 'prepaid' but I didn't really save that much money. Also, we ended up eating way more food than normal because it 'came with the voucher'. Not a good idea if you want to wear the same pants home :rolleyes: . Also, I got tired of pulling the vouchers out to see if 'that' restaurant was an acceptable one. I don't think I'd use the vouchers again.

At Amimal Kingdom be sure to try the 'meal deal' at Flame Tree or the other places. It's a money saver and nice to have the drink and ice cream coupons for later. I wish the other parks had this deal!
::yes::

I think there are a few places where it's really worth it. The adult breakfast vouchers for CRT breakfast in the castle are a good deal, but not the children's. Children's VKL vouchers at RFC at Animal Kingdom are a good deal. The Q&C vouchers are a good deal at some restaurants, especially if you are going to share.

I will be using the Q&C vouchers for a few stops in Epcot WS. Mexico, Japan & Morocco have good counter service deals. That way we can sample from a few countries (and my kids will love that we can try the desserts.) I will also get the VKL for RC for my kids.

I am on the fence about whether or not you save $$ with these, but I can tell you that if you buy them and don't use them, you can post them on dis auctions and easily sell them. The folks in Canada don't have access to these and really want them. If you are the greedier type, you can post them on ebay and sell them for way more than you pay for them;)

I used a couple at beaches and cream so that we could try a disney restaurant and not pay their high prices. If we had had more time, I would have gone to pepper market. The kids vouchers at RFC were a great deal(but since you don't have kids...)

We stay off site and have easy access to fast food restaurants so they really were not a $$ saver- just a way for us to try something different.

If you do buy them- get them from Hotwiresavingsclub

Thanks everyone for your input. I'm still undecided but leaning towards NOT getting them. Mostly because we are only going to be there for 2.5 days and I don't want to waste time trying to figure out if the resturaunt we want to eat at is included. Most likely, we will do one nice dinner for the two of us and the rest of the time will be quick foods around the property or at DTD in the evenings! I think I'd rather save my money for souveniers and such (I'm a junkie). Or save up for next trip!!! (See, haven't even started this one and already looking forward to next one!)
