walk through Epcot and take the monorail or do you take the bus? Has anyone measured the walk? Also, how long approx to walk and take the monorail. Thanks!

If you got some time, I like walking through Epcot. Nice to just stroll through the park without racing on a ride. Probably takes 15 mins to walk the park and then 15 mins on monorail. Bus ride is probably 15 mins, plus the wait. I prefer staying off buses because they can just get so cramped at the wrong time of day.

Oh goodness no! That's a long walk (about a mile) plus a monorail transfer. I've actually done it before and speedwalking it takes 15-20 minutes, then you have a 10 minute monorail ride to TTC, then a few minutes to MK. That excludes any wait times for the monorail at Epcot or TTC, too. It's so not worth it IMO unless you have good reason to be in Epcot before going to MK.

I like to be at park openings so I take the bus to MK. However, I do like to take the monorail to Epcot when leaving. We pick up a set of FP's and a drink at club cool. Then we go back to Epcot at night for Illuminations and dinner, and to use our collected FP's. It usually works out well for us.

I like your routine of returning through Epcot to pick up FPs to use for evening :thumbsup2 Will have to give this a try next time we stay at BWV or BCV.

I've done that too. I'll pickup a Soarin fastpass and use it on my way to the monorail. Otherwise I would just take the bus.

Just make sure, you are not returning home from MK too late in the day, as FP's for Soarin' and Test Track may run out by late afternoon.

The bus is definitely faster, even if you have to wait a bit for it, as it drops you off right at the MK entrance. But, I sometimes (when I have time to spare) like to go the other route; walk thru Epcot, monorail to TTC, then take the boat across to the MK (I really like those boats!)

It's funny but I don't know how many times we've been at Epcot and headed towards MK and DW has asked were we taking the boat :rotfl2:. I hope she doesn't read this (she is a regular reader).

You'll need a park hopper, AP or PAP to walk through Epcot to get to MK.

We do the same.

To get to MK in the morning, the monorail is a LONG way away from BWV/BCV - and unless Epcot is opening early - you can't get through until the MK opens - which takes the best touring hour away. So the bus (or a cab if we rolled out of bed late)

In the afternoon we are heading back to the resort for a swim, with plenty of time - and often Epcot dinner reservations. Picking up a Fastpass to use before or after dinner, or squeezing in an attraction, while riding the monorail (the TTC to Epcot leg is still a favorite attraction of ours) is a good use of the extra half hour. The walk at that time of day is still long, but we accomplish something and get to ride the monorail.
