To EMH or not to EMH That is my Question

Hi there,
I've been looking around here and also checked out UG board. I'm now a little confused over EMH.

I the poast there were only the morning EMH that we always took advantage of and thought were good even if we only arrive 10mins beofre the park opened to the public. Now there are the EMH at night too but on the UG site they said to avoid parks on those days and to visit the park the day after?

So now I'm wondering if we have our philosophy all wrong. Plus someone mentioned the EMH nights were packed but this only started in Jan 2005 did it not? We're going April 25 - May 2 and right now UG posts those days as a 3 (1-10) on their crowds list.

Any help, advice, suggestions, clarifications would be helpful.

I just purchased the vacation planner from TourGuideMike.com and he is suggesting pretty much the same thing. Early mornings, okay, but steer clear of the late evenings...I'm not sure what to do either!

Evenings...forget about it. Particularly if there's a night that both Spectromagic and Wishes are on - YIKES!

The one nice surprise for us was the AK Extra hours in the evening - of course, it was Superbowl Sunday, so that may have lots to with with there only being 50 people in the park that night...well not really...but it sure was empty

And so cool!!AK in the dark is a "whole new world" so to speak We rode KRR 3 or 4 times in a row..we just got so wet it was becoming uncomfortable

10 minute wait for Dinosaur, and 15 for Primevil Whirl, Triceratop Spin was walk on - surprise, surprise

Same for EMHMornings at the MK...no crowds at all

But the evenings at the other parks...if that's what crowded times are lik, we're going in January forever!!LOL!

We did EMH evenings for MGM, MK, AK and Epcot on our Jan trip. We did not find it crowded at all (and Epcot and MGM was on Marathon weekend so the parks themselves were pretty busy). I highly recommend it, especially since you no longer have to pay for it, like you used to with the old E-nights. I recommend them, and if you find them too unbearable, then take it in stride and head back to the hotel for a swim ('cause if the park is crowded, then the pool at the resort should be empty ).

I used to find that the old early-entry was something we would do for the first 2 hours of the park, and then go to a different park because it just got way too busy at the one that opened early.

Man this is getting into some serious planning plus all the PS required Our family has been before but the other family we're traveling with has not.

I'm just glad there are others to "hold my hand" through all this.

We just got back. The extended hours in the evening were great. Once, we even arrived at MK at 5:00 p.m., did the rides not on the extended hours, watched 2 shows, and were able to finish up the park 2 hours after it was closed to all other guests. That included doing splash 2 times, BTM 2 times, and Buzz 2 times. Mind you, we didn't watch Spectro, or Wishes, but most of the rides were walk ons. We felt like we had the park to ourselves. We made sure we were in frontierland when the park was closed to off site guests, so we didn't even have crowds to contend with.

We loved, loved, loved EMH nights. The only park that was remotely busy at night was MGM, and I think that was because the President's Day crowds were starting to surge. And also because everyone wanted to do the same two rides - RnR and ToT.

We just got back, and adored EMH nights!

It was so great not having to worry about touring strategies, and long lineups. We would go to one park in the morning, and switch to the EMH park in the afternoon, all very relaxed. Once we went back to the resort for a while in between. We rode everything we wanted to, several rides more than once.

Oh! I haven't seen this anywhere, but check even if a ride is not listed as being open. A lot of them, like the Jungle Cruise, were open for EMH anyway. It may have been just because they had a lot of trainees in from Hong Kong earning their ears before their park opens, but, it never hurts to check.
