O.K all you tea drinkers, should we go the Grand Floridian Tea? I have two daughters ages 13 & 18. Do you think they would enjoy this? I know I would because I am a big tea drinker. I was thinking of telling the men to go off to Disney Quest while we went to the tea. Is it easy to get to the GF from fort wilderness and then maybe catch up with the men at Disney Quest. ( As I'm writing this I'm thinking, I like this plan.) What do you think? Gina

I've been taking my DD since she was 12. She loves it! If your daughter doesn't like traditional tea she can get things like raspberry iced tea. The pastries and Devonshire cream are to die for!

Hubby and I went there for the tea several years ago and loved it. Then again, it's something we do on many vacations and also do at home. My boys love going to tea actually. They have been going since they were small and are now teenagers.

This time I was also thinking of sending the guys to DQ and having tea with a girlfriend and her daughter. (Another family is joining us this trip.)

I was hoping to do it on the spur of the moment like the previous trip, but I am thinking that may be more difficult now.

Any thoughts on that?

My sister and I went in March and it was absolutely the most relaxing 1 1/2 hours I have ever spent at WDW. We each got the tea which costs about $17. They have varying prices depending on if you get sandwiches and/or desserts/scones. We were able to hear the society orchestra and the pianist play as we had tea. To get to GF from Fort Wilderness, you'll need to go to a park or Downtown Disney and then on to GF. You and your DDs will definitely enjoy your time. I know I'll be going again when I'm at WDW.

Hi cpl100
We had a ps for June 4 but really didn't need it. There were empty tables the whole time we were there. We really enjoyed the tea especially DH who is 80 years old. We had a very good and funny male waiter. I was apprehensive about taking him but it turned out to be a highlight of our trip.

Thanks for the response. I would just like to do that on the spur of the moment, maybe a rainy day thing.

I say you should go for it! It's very quiet and relaxing ... The food was excellent :) I even took my boyfriend and he really liked it!

I've been thinking of taking my DD (she's 12) when we go in Aug.

When making a PS, do you need to tell them which one (they have several tea/pastry couplings) you want? Also, should you expect to be there the entire time? Or is it like a normal restaurant where you just leave when your done? Gosh, I feel like I am asking some stupid questions lol

Your wait person will explain the menu to you after you are seated so that's when you decide what you want. You stay as long as you wish and leave when you want.
