I currently have a Fantasmic Package book at H&V on 8/30. I keep reading how people don't really care for H&V. SO my question is, should I just cancel and book somewhere else. Then I would have to hope for seats at Fantasmic. Do you think it will be very crowded?? Decisions, decisions....

DGF and I just cancelled our fantasmic dinner package for a few different reasons. One of which was the seating that is automatically allocated by Disney.

Not saying that the seating area is bad, it's just that it is off to the far right and from experience last year, it is very easy to get seats in the middle if you get there at least 30-45 minutes before the show starts. We never actually got to see the show due to really bad weather (thunder and lighting etc) but I hope to see it this year.

when you enter from the fantasmic package side of the theater, you can sit in any empty seat, you do not have to sit in the allocated seats. the line at the package entrance will inevitably be shorter, so if you plan to get there 30-45 minutes before the show it is always going to be better to enter from the other side and have the package. you can still get there the 30-45 minutes early.

OP, if you cancel the H&V, where will you eat? are you on the dining plan? if so do you think youll be able to use TS credits if you dont have ADRs? do you think youll be able to get ADRs anywhere this close to free dining?

if it were me, id keep it, because i dont think youll get anything else at this point.

OP - you didn't say when you plan on going, that will give us a clue as to the croud level & even if there are 1,2, or 3 showings for the day (you really don't need the package for the later shows)

I booked the H&V package years back and was very disappointed to find we had horrible seats (we didn't know to get there 45 min early assuming we had reserved seating) but still we were better off than the folk who wound up standing in the far back. BTW - I thought the food was good, the kids hated it.

A note, the two times we went NOT on the Fantasmic package we were seated on the left as is usual, but the wind blew the water from the show directly in our faces. One time it was so bad we couldn't even make out the images in the water screens, which is 1/2 the show. Speaking with the folk from the package side, they had no issues with water or blurred images. This may change as wind can come from any direction, but odd that it turned out the same way twice.

I've booked the Mama Melrose Fantasmic package for our upcoming trip, simply because they had no adrs available for the day I needed other than the package ones. :confused3 We were going to see Fantasmic anyway so that plus my previous experiences, I guess it works out.
