To do EMH parks in January or not?

I know there's lots of opinions on both sides about EMH. I've always heard on this board to either avoid the EMH parks that day and go the next, or take advantage of the extra hours, by all means. So, my question...We're going January 20th-27th, which is, from what I understand, a low crowd time. Assuming low attendance, what would be the advice of those of you who have more expertise? EMH parks or not?

We're going with our 4 and 5 year old children. We're renting a stroller for them. They don't nap at home and love to go, go, go. We were there last March with them and they easily closed the parks with us nightly (admittedly, we were never there past 9:30 or 10 and don't really plan to be this time either since I am expecting #3). We're staying on site. Will have the MYW tickets with hopper option.

Would love advice so I can finalize our itinerary...

Also on another note...how in the world should I start my pre-packing when I have really no idea what the weather will be like?? Tough time of year to pack for, eh? Swimsuits and fleeces both, I suppose...

No one knows how the crowds will work out - only time will tell, unfortunately for you, you will be going before a pattern is documented.

My opinion is that many people will use the evening EMH, and the morning hours will be less used. I think you will have a large group of people who "hop" each evening to whatever park is open late. And that you will have another significant group of people who attempt to save a few bucks and not buy the hopper option - this group will visit the late night park during the morning, take an afternoon rest, then return to the same park for the late hours. I think this is especially likely during off-peak times when the parks generally close so early anyway.

I may be all wrong - but for what it is worth that's my guess.

DH and I are going Jan 20 -23 and I had the same questions you did. This new system is really hard to plan around.

I wish I knew what to pack. I do hope the weather is mild. Its just too early to tell. I live in Panama City, Fl and the weather here is in the low 70's! WILD!

Congrats on baby #3!

add me to that list

We will be there from Jan. 20th - 29th and am not sure what to expect except that I be in the park at night, I love the park at night.
