To Dine or not to Dine?

We decided to skip Epcot this time and do a full day at Seaworld with our kids 3 and 6 to kick off our Disney trip.

I'm trying to decide if it's better to do the PLAYANDDINE special or to buy tickets off Undercover tourist and eat lunch at Seaworld and Dinner somewhere else. The cost difference is approx $63.

It should be noted that we are doing the DDP+, so the day we're at Seaworld is covered by our DDP. I don't know how late we'll end up staying at Seaworld though and all we'd have is a Quick Service credit to use at our hotel that night. If we don't use our DDP credit that day we'll use it for breakfast one morning, so no waste there.

If I understand the Seaworld Dining does not include the Shark Grill or Dining with Shamu. Are those worth the extra cost?

if your not staying late and going back for dinner the savings would be more then enough for lunch. SW also serves breakfast and you can get lots of drinks and snacks through out the day on all day dining. For my family its a no brainer we get it every time. One meal alone cost around 90$. So we always save. We are a family of 9 and we eat all 3 meals there along with snacks and drinks.

We have eaten at Sharks and it is worth it but it is a really filling meal and we wish we had eaten there for dinner instead of doing a lunch. It was too much for that time of day. Haven't done dine with shamu but really want to. I think its worth it.

We used the all day dining last time. It was worth it. We could get drinks whenever and snacks.

We'll be getting it again in November.

We really like the all day dining at SW. We find the food choices to be far better than Disney CS. We love having the ability to eat what we want, when we want, as often as we want. If you are planning a full day at SeaWorld, and its a first visit for you (meaning you want to squeeze as many shows and attractions into the day as you can during the time allotted to you), then I would go with the all day dining over a formal meal at Sharks Underwater Grill or Dine With Shamu. Just because there's less downtime eating and more uptime "doing".

That said......Dine With Shamu is a great meal and (IMHO) worth the $29 per adult cost. I don't know though what the kids price is.

So you can't go wrong either way. If it were me, though, I'd maximize my SW day, plan on spending as much time as possible (breakfast through to and including dinner) and go with the all-day dining. Then enjoy a CS breakfast with your unusued DDP dining entitlement.

Shark Grill is the only really good dining option at Sea World. There's plenty of other, better options in the area for dinner.

I think $63 would easily pay for one meal and snack for a family of four - especially if you wanted to have the bbq plate at Voyagers which costs a bit more (may be $13-15) than the general hamburger ($10).

What I really like about the All Day Dining deal is that it also includes breakfast and I would go through the line and get fruit - the strawberries and chocolate sauce for example and bottled water. The only downside was depending on the time of day there might be a long line and you might not want to wait just to get dessert and water - but sometimes the person managing the line will let you go through if you are just getting water or a small item.

If you eat three meals and snacks you can easily save %50 using the all day dine deal.

We, too are planning a day at SW with the all day dining. SW closes at 7pm the day we are going so we plan to get there at opening and make a day of it. I checked out the participating restaurant menus but did not see any bkfst menus. Do they all have same type of bkfst offerings or would one be a better choice over another????

There is only one restaurant that serves breakfast. Its at voyagers. They have scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, and potatoes. All of those items are included in the adult meal. I know for kids its the french toast sticks but I'm sure if an adult wanted them too they could get them.

When you first get to the park grab a map and on the back it list each restaurant with times and also tells you which one serves breakfast. I only say this cause previously it was seafire inn and now its voyagers. So not sure if they switch it up or if its a permanant change. When we got there we went straight to seafire and thought they stopped. Then I looked at the back of the map and saw it was moved.

They either had to be reading something wrong, just made a wild guess, or it was some 1 day special.

As far as I know, Mango's has never been open for breakfast and it wouldn't make sense for it to ever open. It is on the side of the park that doesn't even open until around 10:00. So by the time it was open it would be time for lunch.

We were able to get the French toast sticks on Christmas Day, and we had no kids in our party. I find the SW food service workers to be very easy to get along with .

Remember too, that your breakfast includes an entrée (ie, the platter with the eggs, meat, potatoes), a drink, AND a side (fruit, muffin, etc.). The muffins are HUGE. So you can get a very substantial morning meal on just one trip through the line.

Oh ok. This will be my first visit ever so I was just going by what I gathered when calling them. We have the dining and I'm an obsessive planner so I had called about two weeks ago to find out about breakfast. The agent told me that only one place does breakfast and it's called Mango Joes.
From the looks of the map, I do hope that is wrong and that one of the places up front is serving breakfast!LOL

Can you basically go through as much as you want? Not sure how dining works at SW. Unlimited drinks? Snacks?

You have to remember the agents aren't any where near the park. Its just a call center and they rarely know what goes on in the park. My homeschool group is in the process of planning a field trip and I can't tell you how many times we have been given different answers. It really would be nice if the info was in their computer and they just clicked on the question and gave the proper info.

You are going to love this then. I just went and looked at a map. Breakfast is currently being served in Seafire Inn, from 8:45 until 10:30.

Granted that can change on a week by week basis (although I would be willing to bet it won't) but at least they got the 10:30 part of it correct.

See I knew it. We always had it at seafire inn and then for new years weekend it was at voyagers. I agree always look at the map cause it can change.
