To cruise or not to cruise...(wdw is a definite)

That is the question!

Has anyone done WDW piggybacked with a short cruise with three kids? DS is 12, DD is 9 and DS is 18months. We are headed to Fl for two weeks next April and were originally planning 9 days in the parks and a few days with family in Tampa. But now we are toying with the idea to do a 4night cruise on Enchantment after 4nights in the parks. Then Tampa for the remaining time.

I'm looking for anyone's personal experience with this. Do you think it will be too much? No rest and all running around? I've never done a short cruise. We usually do 9-12nights out of NJ. TIA.

We've never done them back to back like what you're saying but I will say, as much as I love disney I love getting home and can't imagine a long trip followed up with a cruise. We did do a day in animal kingdom before our first cruise in 2007 and it was a wonderful way to start our trip off but again, we were exhausted. Our sons at the time were 1/3yrs.

Our family loves the longer cruises. Easier to do more.

However, it could be a relaxful ending to your vacation. We enjoy the cruises.

Some are more exhausting than others. It all depends on what you do or not do.

I would do a longer cruise. Maybe a week each. The cruise is way more relaxing than the parks. Just as fun. Just different.

I am going to WDW for 6 nights and in the Dream for 4. We will only hit the parks two times and just hang out and do other stuff the rest of the time. Last year we did 3 WDW and 7 nights cruise. It was too short a trip at my beloved WL so this time it's longer. I've don't 2 weeks on a cruise before and in hoping 4 won't be disappointing. Longer cruises are the best but I only have so much vacation time.
