HELLO,

WE ARE DOWN TO 363 DAY UNTIL WE GO. YEAH!!!!! OKAY SO I HAVE A FRIEND WHO WILL "RENT" US HER CONDO FOR A WEEK. I AM TRYING TO DECIDE WEATHER TO DO THIS OR NOT. THE PRICE OF THE CONDO IS 700.00 IT IS 2 BEDROOM, AND WELL THAT IS ALL THAT I CAN TELL YOU. SO IF I WERE AN AMAZING COOK AND LOVED TO COOK. I COULD SAVE ALL KINDS OF MONEY BY COOKING ALL OF OUR MEALS IN THE CONDO. BUT LETS FACE IT FOLKS, I LOVE FOOD AND LIKE TO EAT. BUT COOKING IS NOT ON MY TOP TEN LIST!!!!! EXPECIALLY WHEN I AM ON VACATION. BUT IF NEEDED I WOULD DO THIS FOR MY FAMILY.
:o MY QUESTION IS WOULD WE BE BETTER OFF STAYING IN A HOTEL? OR CONDO? THERE ARE 4 OF US. DH, ME, DS (12) AND AS TALL AS ME RIGHT NOW. 5'8") AND DD 10. DS CANNOT SLEEP WITH ANYONE HE WILL BEAT WHOM EVER HE SLEEPS WITH TO DEATH. SO WE ALWAYS GET A ROLL AWAY. WE REALLY NEED HELP WITH THIS ONE. WE ARE GOING DOWN ON A PRETTY TIGHT BUDGET, BUT MY DH CANNOT STAND TO LISTEN TO THE KIDS AND I WHIN ABOUT HOW WONDERFUL DISNEY WORLD IS.(I WILL STOOP TO ANY LEVEL AT THIS POINT.) ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

THANKS

Well, as the mom of three I am a big fan of two bedroom condos. BIG fan!! I would bet your 12 year old would be lots more comfortable on a double bed than a roll away!

I am also big into budget/inexpensive vacations. That said, I would suggest you check out the budget board on the DIS. The folks on that board have some fabulous ideas to share on easy and inexpensive meals to prepare while in Orlando. I actually would not want to have to eat in a restaurant every night for a week. At the very least, you could do breakfast very easily at your villa each day and save quite a bit. On our last trip, we spent an average of $35 per day for all of us to eat and that included what I spent at the supermarket and you have to figure I would have bought those groceries at home too.

However, i would do a little looking around before agreeing to your friends $700 condo. Have you looked at Skyauction? We were able to get a two bedroom for around $250 for the week and that is by no means a rarity on this board. Just do a search for skyauction and you'll get lots of useful information.

I agree with Disneymom, you can save alot of money with a condo and it really takes very little effort. Just cooking the occasional meal, and having snacks/drinks avail can save a bundle.

I also agree the price seems steep. We've rented a 3 br condo in Windsor Palms for only $64/nt incl tax. 10 nts is only $624. This one was a little higher than some we've seen but the dep/fp conditions are amazing.

That is a great rate for a 3 bedroom condo! Where did you find such a good deal?

A condo is the only way we go! We are also a family of 4 with 2 daughters who definitely need their own bathroom. I love the convenience of a refrigerator, place to keep snacks and a washer and dryer so I can pack less clothes and have more room for all the Disney "stuff" I can't live without :). We have stayed at the Vistana Resort and the Vistana Villages and I am leaning toward Windsor Palms for our next visit. Good luck with your decision.
