Just wanted to let CM consultants know that, "As a CM consultant you are not allowed to discuss ANYTHING to do with CM and CM products in this or any other board or ANYWHERE in the internet unless it is with ONLY your customers in a PRIVATE chat room ." This board is being watched by them and they will shut your account immediately.

This isn't from me. Someone reported me and a few others in here talking in this forum and this is what they told us and our account was shut until we signed an agreement and sent it back to them.

""I don't appreciate it but whoever did it, you know who you are, I think it was really rotten of you!"""

never mind, I couldn't come up with a good reply to this, except that I think that's extremely silly (and a few other things). :D maggie

you know, the more I think about this, the more irritated I get (not at the op, just in general). no one is putting down cm here and if someone wants to know more about it before the get involved in it, what better way than to ask a general question about cm on the boards. I think most people join because of word of mouth and if you can't have a civilized conversation about it, quite frankly I would have second doubts about it. At least with the lss, no-one cares what I say about a product, etc. :D

Sorry if I took the op's post the wrong way. :D

That's ridiculous. I would think they would want more business and talking to others would hopefully sell the product to others and increase product sales. I guess they don't want that.

I guess you just don't admit you are a consultant on the boards and use a different user id.

Hmm... they post over at 2peas all the time. I haven't seen any consequences for them backing their products or mentioning that they're CMCs. Okay... okay... I do usually skip those threads since I'm not interested in CM. *shrug*

Really???
Wow that must suck to work for a company that mandates that you can't talk about your great products in a public forum....hmmmm
Strange :)

I suppose you must be a CM rep or be reporting these people or something to KNOW THEY ARE WATCHING!

Ok -
go nuts - shut my freaking account -
I will bring the $500 plus I am spending on my own products every three months to Michael's instead!
I LOVE the CM albums and will discuss it whenever I want -
I DO not like CM purists who condem others for using different products -
this is all soooo dang silly

Is that really a rule? That sounds so silly to me! You mean to say, that the company DOES not allow you to advertise their products? Sounds strange to me....hmmmm...maybe I should re-consider using ANY of their products!

No-if you read my post , someone reported a few of us!!!!! and I am a little upset!!!!

Franne and I and others were discussing some new products and things in here and someone reported it to CM. I was locked out of my account until I sent this agreement back. If it happens again, I will lose my CM account.

I don't appreciate it but whoever did it, you know who you are, I think it was really rotten of you!

I belive their intent is not to have CMCs selling product or conducting classes over the internet. That would be harful to othere CMCs, especially if a discount were offered, etc. I have not seen anythign stating that you cannot discuss anything about the product electronically. Just my $0.02.

Call CM and speak to Sara Lehn!!!! Those are CM's rules.

Sounds dumb to me. I guess (for those spies out there) you can tell CM that consultants should be able to discuss whatever they want or some of us will take our buisness elsewhere!! Funny, I can say that I'm a Longaberger consultant here.

Huh???????????

For 8 months I posted as a CMC here and let everyone know of upcoming products and NEVER got a reprimand from CM.

However, I don't know if it was you MikDor, or someone else, but for awhile someone was posting here on the scrapping boards with a link in their siggie to buy CM from them. That MAY be a no-no with CM because you are not supposed to advertise that you sell CM on the internet- I don't mean, "I sell CM and I think it's awesome." I mean, "I sell CM and here's my email so you can buy from me, even though we have never met." CM strongly believes in making a relationship with your customers, and that's also why you cannot sell on ebay.

I just know I was locked out and I had to speak to Sara Lehn I said we discuss how good the products are or the new ones etc... and I was told not one word in these boards is allowed. I then had to sign this agreement and fax it back to them and I have no more chances.

I just can't believe someone actually reported this. I would think we all have better things to do.

Anyway, this is my last post in this board.

I think Alice is probably right. I know I can say "Hey I sell Longaberger, I love it." or " Yeah, Longaberger just came out with new products". But... I can't sell on ebay or provide a link to my site. And we can't sell to anyone overseas. Although there are consultants who do this. And actually, for those regular posters here, I feel that hey if you want something from me, pm me. There are a lot of people here that I feel like I've made a connection with, even though we've never met. Kinda like an online family!

I was waiting to see what everyone would have to say about this!:( I love CM, but if this is their policy on things. I will definitely rethink my purchases. I'm sure any of my LSS would love all the $$$ I shell out for CM products. I would not support a company who puts a gag order on their consultants! I think this is stupid to say the least.
I would also let all my scrapping friends know this is their policy too. Especially if someone here lost her agreement over something dumb like this!

I totally believe you!! Personally, if it was me, the signed fax they got back would have more than my signature on it!! :teeth:

I will say that I believe you; that was part of the reason I left CM, is because I thought some of their policies were way too strict. I just didn't get a good vibe. But, I still think their albums and tools are great, and I still buy them from my former upline.

I am sorry that the original poster & other CMC are having trouble with CM & maybe someone on this bb.

I got interested in scrapbooking by attending a CM fundraising party about two & a half years ago. I bought several tools & other supplies over this time. I do not use CM albums for various reasons.

I have two very nice LSS. I have shopped at both several times. They know me by name & one LSS owner has placed several special orders for me.

This is the one "public" bb that I read regularly. I have appreciated the posts by CMC letting us know what is new, etc.

I am sorry that Creative Memories as a company is so short sighted to not see how CMC on this bb are helping scrapbookers.

I am having a CM party for a friend this weekend. My party will be her first, so her upline will be in attendance. I know I have to be on "my best behavior," but I am leaving my non-CM supplies out. I feel like it is my house & if I want to share non-CM sb info with my friends who come to the party, then I can.

Funny, I'm going to a neighbor's CM party tonight and now I plan on buying nada from a company that is so ridiculous. (Tried to come up with a nice word.)
Personally, I sure like to hear in person from this Sara woman.
