So please tell me what the scoop is on bringing bags into the park... you have to put them in lockers before some of the rides is it? Is it better to just stuff your pockets and leave everything in your room including your camera? I really hate lines;)

The Scoop is ...Several rides do NOT allow bags of any kind ( other than a waist pack- and not one as large as a preschooler). That includes: backpacks, crossbody and wristlets.
The rides that prohibit bags offer a locker for length of ride. Some of the locker lines can be long and have waits( Forbidden Journey is notorious for this)
The rides that prohibits bags are : Rip Ride Rocket, Mummy, Men in Black, Dragon Challenge, Forbidden Journey, Hulk
There may be more, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.
I bring either a smallwaistpack, or I shove it all in cargo shorts.I am not dealing with the lockers again

that is a cute bag. What is a 3 prong bag?

when you connect the two pieces of the strap, the ends have a encased prong, you can have either a 2 or 3 prong that inserts into the other.

i can't tell by looking at the bag pictures how many prongs it has.

i have a very small bag and was surprised it was 3 prong.
had an attendant i had to show it to one time.
if that wouldn't have happened, i probably still wouldn't know mine was a 3.
didn't know it made a difference until i was told about it.

Well...if you're going to stuff your pockets, make sure the pockets zip or button SECURELY. I don't want to get hit in the face with someone's stuff that's falling out of an open pocket.

At the lockers, there are multiple stations to rent or unlock a rented locker. I head to the BACK. I haven't used the one at FJ yet, so I don't know what it's like, but on the others just go through the clumps of people who think there is just the one kiosk, and you'll find much smaller clumps of people back there. When you're doing the touchscreen, use your knuckle to hit the buttons. For some reason the pads of the fingers don't work as well as a nice knuckle. Don't let a kid do the fingerscan, trust me. Just use an adult's finger.

I wouldn't want to leave my camera behind, because I love taking pictures of the parks and my family at the parks! Unless I were literally doing a blitz of the rides that involve lockers and nothing else, I wouldn't leave my camera behind.

I hate the lockers at Universal, so make a point of wearing cargo shorts over there (that button or zip securely). If it doesn't fit in my pockets, it doesn't go. All I ever carry anyway is my cell phone in one leg pocket, my small Canon elph camera in the other with a small lip balm, and a Vera Bradely zip ID case that holds ID, room key, AP, cc, and a little cash.

That may be the best piece of advice ever given on The Dis!

I take it you made the mistake we did of letting a child do it? :headache: :upsidedow

Had to get a locker attendant to open it that day... Now THAT makes it a pain. Especially when I had to prove to her that it was my locker, but I was carrying all of my ID in my lanyard pouch, and there was nothing in the bag to match the info. Finally realized I knew what pictures were on my camera, and some were taken that day of my son (with the sweaty little fingers that caused the fingerscan issues), and that proved it enough for her.

Silly question possibly, but if you have a stroller, can you leave your backpack in the stroller and skip the lockers (assuming no issue with valuables)? Thanks

not a safe thing to do.

the TM's are not able to keep an eye on bags left out in a stroller.

i wouldn't risk the chance of having something stolen or rummaged through.
