Just there a few weeks ago, dying to go back.

Thinking about a trip October 9-13. Could get a good flight price (checked
Southwest this morning).

Would add on 100 points...

Am I crazy?

I think that if you've thought it out, and your gut is saying you want this...then do it. The most it'll leave you with is another great trip to WDW. Just make sure you can reserve for those dates.

If you are talking about October 9 -13, 2008, you're probably dreaming - I don't think there are any DVC rooms left. You might be able to get something, but if so, you'll probably be moving between resorts.

That's Columbus Day weekend and since many have 10/13 off work and school, rooms booked quickly. THere are waitlists for those dates.

All that said, it doesn't hurt to try. My advice is to book rooms first and then airfare. Or be prepared to book something for cash, either on or off site.

Well, I checked with Member Services this morning for 10/10 - 10/16 at SSR in a 1 bedroom because I found a good flight. At the beginning of the call the only nights available were the 10th and 11th. By the end of the call they were able to "find" 14th, 15th and 16th. So I'm on the waitlist for the 12th and 13th. I booked the flight on faith that the other nights will become available somewhere. This could be a huge mistake but since they "found" some nights I am thinking pixie dust could happen.

OP, I don't think you are going to be able to find those nights using points.

Thanks. We had luck with it last year - so we shall see.
If not - that answers my question.

:-)
