On average, how much money do you spend (as an individual) on food every day?

Just an average estimate, is all I'm asking.

Thanks

It all depends. I tried to mostly cook/bring food to work, to help save money. If I did buy lunch, it usually was around $6-7.

Once in awhile I would eat in one of the table-service restaurants. That would be about $30 or so.

An average day for me, from sun up to the point I fell asleep was probably around $10-12. Obviously some days were significantly more/less expensive- ramen days were quite cheap, and like Joanna mentioned, any meal I'd eat out at table service locations would be considerably more expensive.

I agree...I don't know about an exact amount that I'd spend on a daily basis, but if I went to the grocery store, I'd spend about $40/week. If I didn't, it probably ended up about the same, or just a little bit more...but I wouldn't recommend making a big grocery trip in a week if you plan on grabbing food while you're out a lot...I know it sounds like common sense, but I had a roommate who did that, and she was ALWAYS really pushing it paycheck to paycheck.
