To Add On Now or Wait

Since we passed ROFR and we know we want to add more points, the question for us now is, add on now or wait a little while?

I'm very happy with the price we paid for our SSR contract, don't get me wrong. It is a little hard for my "money" brain to not notice the huge price increase from as little as 3 or 4 months ago. I can understand a year or more but literally just a few weeks is largely noticeable.

For you folks that have been around DVC for a while, to maximize our dollars & points, should we hold off adding on until the winter or maybe next year and roll the dice the price will come back down a bit? Specifically for SSR and a Feb UY.

I've also wondered this granted my capital about all dried up for DVC. Maybe is a unicorn comes along at a great price with the same UY. Even since I started looking I've noticed a good $5 or more increase in the average contract for AKV.

Depending when you started looking it could even be greater than $5. For example a friend of bought AKV in January (maybe early February), she paid $90 pp, her counterpart in say April is paying $100+ for the same contract. For us, we paid $97 for SSR, while our February counterpart was anywhere from $80-$92. That seems dramatic to me.

Maybe you should wait until you have more DVC experience. I would hate for you to not buy the right home resort or not be happy with the DVC.

I know personally I don’t think clearly about spending large sums of money when I am in a happy place. Maybe let the fun and emotional happy high die down so you can start thinking more with logic instead of emotion. I only say this after having learned my lesson not during DVC but during art auctions .
