tluum ruins and stingray city/rum point

We're thinking of doing the Tulum ruins. My DS really wants to go. MY concern is the ferry ride over. I heard it can get pretty rough. Has anyne done this excursion? Is it worth it? About Stingray Cityand Rum Point? We're considering this excursion at GC. Has anyone done this one or is it better to do Stingray City as an excursion and Rum Poin on your own.Thanks!

A long time ago (1993) my wife and I vacationed in Cozumel, and took a day trip to the ruins at Tulum. Our trip also included a snorkeling trip. We had no problem at all with the ferry, but be warned that the bus trip after you get off the ferry was fairly long--nearly 2 hours, as I recall. Also, it got very hot, and there was little shade, so take plenty of water and sunscreen. All things considered, though, i thought it was definitely worth the hassle. It was very impressive, somewhat different from what i thought we were going to see ( I was expecting Pyramids) and really beautiful.

Sorry, don't know anything about StingRay City.
