TL question...

Heading down the week before Easter and will spend a day at TL.. Having a baby, we need to make sure we are there at the opening so we can find chairs in the shade..

Without ever being there before, whats the procedure at opening??? Is it a mad rush when they open up??? Any tips on locating shaded spots???

We've been there at opening several times and there was never a mad rush. There are more people going into the park at that time, but it's not like the theme parks. To find a shady area, you can go to the right side of the wave pool (get a map to get yourself familiar with the layout of the park). There is a small area that has sand and a small wading area for little ones with a boat. There's lots of shade in this area, actually there's lots of shade everywhere at TL. There's Ketchakiddee Creek to the left of the park where little ones can play and there are areas to rest with shade in here too. When my DS was small, he loved this area. The earlier you get there at opening time, the better chance you'll have of finding a place to sit and relax in the shade. You and your baby will have a great time!

I never experienced an opening rush prior to last year. We hit Typhoon the Sat. of Memorial Weekend. What a crowd waiting to get in! Despite my best efforts I could not outrun the spindly little kids who were grabbing up the chairs in the shade. This was the first time we have ever had trouble. We did end of finding a spot under an umbrella (though a hike to the water) but had to vacate it later on when there was a nasty thunderstorm.

What is nice though are the chairs at the water's edge. Pretty easy to snag one of these and even though they are in the sun you can splash your feet in the water while watching little ones.
